Not to sound “cliche,” but there isn’t much out there that sounds like my music. Melting multiple genres together seemlessly, every song is a musical journey that crosses the borders of what we currently understand about genres. Additionally, I make music that helps hurting people. A lot of these songs I wrote in some of my darkest moments — while simultaneously pointing towards the light. I want people who have hurt to feel that they are gonna make it another day. I want people who feel like they don’t belong to feel safe. I want the people who don’t have the strength to fight anymore to feel revitalized. My music is passionate, and it is purposeful.
My influences range from Logic and Witt Lowery to The Devil Wears Prada and a lot of 2008 era bands. Linkin Park, and All Time Low etc. Those who loved the scene ten years ago will feel nostalgia and those who are newer ears to music will feel inspired.
How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m 26 years old and I’ve been writing music since I was about 10.
What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I want to do this for the rest of my life. I want to do music professionally and play shows around the US and the world and bring a message of hope to as many ears as I can possibly reach.
What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? My music is passionate as am I. I also strive to reach the broken and hopeless and bring peace in those dark hearts.
Anyone who feels hurt, who feels out of place: I hope that my music can not only be an inspiration for you, but also that I am here as well. I’m an artist that will answer those DM’s because I care about people.
What is your artist name? My artist name is Zeke OT, the name kinda just formed itself with everyone already calling me Zeke because it’s short for my full name Ezekiel but the OT part stuck with me from high school. People called me OT all the time because any free time I had whether it was from the class room or from school in general you would only see me inside my room working on music everyday, every night, between periods, even after school, so OT found its way to represent overtime because I’ve never stopped working on my music even 9 years later.
What kind of music do you make? I make hip hop & rap music mainly buthonestly my playlist ranges from all different genres from Rap, Hip Hop, R&B, Reggie, Soul, Rock, and Country. I’ve found that in order to appreciate the music you make you have to appreciate the music that is around you or has come before you. I learn from the music I listen to on a daily basis from what melody’s and samples can be used, the word play and the feel the music gives you when someone first hears it. I grew up with a single mom who does jazz music herself and always going to her gigs and hearing her music and the soulful joy it brought people made me realize that music is not just a sound but also an emotion that people can feel. I know that people interact with music differently and I wanted to make music that everyone can grasp regardless of what you like. I don’t look for money or any kind of fame from this, I make music because It’s something I love to do and I feel like my purpose here is to make music for people to enjoy regardless of their preference. If it’s to take anything from my music when someone listens it would be that my music comes from the heart and I want the listener to leave feeling the same kind of emotion, I don’t lie in my music everything you hear is completely authentic.
How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 22 years old, I started creating music when I was 12 (8th grade). Started doing little shows on stage for talent shows and having all ears on me is what drove me to keep going until I have a reason not to, and so far I still haven’t found that reason to quit.
What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goals towards my career are to eventually work with artist I listen to now, as well as striving to become as independent as possible and show people it’s not always who you know but who your willing to connect with on your own. I want to show people that supporting each other regardless if it’s from your own town or state that everyone can reach their max potential while helping others do the same. This year alone I want to stream more songs then previous years, i plan on making my Audiance bigger than it is now and to keep making the music I love. My career goal is to make the music that makes me happy and I know as long as I do that I will be satisfied.
What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? If the reader could take away one thing from my music is that you should never be afraid to venture outside the box. My music is made for different ears not everyone will like the same songs and there’s reasons for that I knew that when creating any song I want it to be different from the last and I think after reading this and taking a minutes to listen to a couple songs they’ll realize that for sure. I support anyone who chases and pursues their dream because a lot of people don’t these days.Side note: I’m always down to work with anyone.
What kind of music do you make? I make Hip-hop, Rap and Pop. Well what influences my music was when I was younger I always said I wanted to be famous, and I felt it had a direct correlation to the fact I was scared to die! When I got older I realized everyone dies, so what did I want to do to become famous. I instantly thought of Michael Jackson he would always be remembered no matter what.
Then I thought of my favorite artist Drake and the music he made and I loved it so much so I chose Hip-hop.

I like to take my listeners on a musical roller coaster ride, I like them to relate to some of my experiences in todays society being a young entrepreneur / hard worker with ambition to being successful. I like beats and songs with melodies that can be played in the ghetto but still be felt by the women and main stream. I like to record songs about women, wealth, hustle empowerment and the challenges to master success in a competitive market. With all the emotions and changes we go thru as human beings I like to consider my music as Gumbo a little bit of everything in it. I play piano and drums so that where my musical side comes from. What is your artist name? My name is Jinfinity. The “J” is for the fact my real name is Joseph, and “infinity” is because of my versatility in beats and song styles, as well as the fact I’ll be leaving my mark on this world with my music that will live forever.
What kind of music do you make? I make various different kinds of music, however I consider myself a mixture of rap and alternative. My music can range from chill pads and synths with slow drums all the way to distorted guitars and booming loud in your face 808’s and drums. I make my music from my heart and mind. Everything I write and sing, scream, and rap about involves my life and the things I’ve encountered or seen through my eyes. All the emotions and thoughts that I speak into my music are raw and unfiltered. My musician influences are Machine Gun Kelly, Post Malone, Bring Me The Horizon, NF, Lil Peep, XXXTentacion, Suicideboys, and Scarlxrd. My musical process varies depending on my mood and availability, occasionally I’ll make a beat then write to it or vice versa, then I’ll record and mix my vocals to my liking. What I want the listener to take from my music is that they’re not alone, as well as it’s okay to be different. What they’re going through is something that I understand or I am personally going through. I Also I want to allow the listener a way to cope with everything going on in their lives like I did.
How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am currently 19, but I was interested in music at 13. I started writing at 13 and at 17 I started producing my own beats, then at 18 I started recording and I published my first ever song on SoundCloud.
What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I want to leave behind a legacy and change the world, as well as I hope to save people with my music. I want to become big in the underground scene, collab with the well known artists in my scene, as well as go on tour around the country. Also I want to leave behind a legacy and change the world, as well as I hope to save people with my music.
What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I am only human, therefore everything I create is my way to escape reality and or to show what is happening currently. I won’t ever sugarcoat my topics and I don’t change unless I want to. I make music my way, and I don’t like being compared to anyone. I want to be my own individual and be unique. I hope that I can at least save 1 person’s life, if not everyone who listens to my art built from my own hands and oxygen.
What kind of music do you make? The music I create, derives from hip hop and rap origins. I thoroughly enjoy feeling the hip hop and rap vibrations through musical beats. From the thumping kick drum, to the snap of the snare, when you arrange it just right your body takes over your movements and you can feel what freedom is really like. I was introduced to hip hop from the likes of Dr Dre, Eminem, Nate Dogg, Biggie, 2PAC, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, 50Cent and Ludacris to name just a few key influences.
My process to create music comes from freelancing my thoughts through drum pads and keyboard sounds that I pick at random using the iMASCHINE 2.0 software. I pick and listen to the random sound selection and to where it takes me towards the thoughts I received from the days experience in the attempt to capture that within a beat, rhythm or melody. Then I construct and master a final 16bar beat progression which includes a drum pattern, a bass line, rhythm, melody and a solo if possible. I sketch out this beat to then send each section to a DAW where I arrange, edit and mix the created samples into a song worthy piece of music.
I would like the listeners to take good feelings and great vibrations from my productions. I want the listener to feel empowered, uplifted and motivated to push past and go be great.
When it comes to the lyrics, I want the listener to find relation between the lyrics and themselves. I want the listener to know that I have had ups and downs too, but here I am showing all my cards and being proud of my scars both good and bad. The only way to become grateness is to own yourself through thick and thin. I want the listeners to know that I speak honesty about my own experiences and views of life.
How old are you and when did you start creating music? I begin creating music in grade 4 at age 10. I was introduced to a percussion teacher that enabled me to learn and perfect drum patterns. I played in many different bands as a percussionist and a guitarist up until the age of 16, when I began the hunt for digital software to create beats. It took me another ten years of trial and error towards beat programs to finally discover the iMASCHINE software. I haven’t used anything else since that day.
As soon as practically possible, I purchased the iMASCHINE MiCRO beatpad hardware, U-CONTROL keyboard, KOMPLETE AUDiO 6 audio interface and headphones to get me started.
What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goals towards a music career would be to get my talents discovered by a record label or an already established artists seeking a beat producer. I am an all rounder when it comes to song creation input. I can write, compose, produce, arrange, edit and mix music. I want to be a name music industry professionals can call upon.
I want to be able to perform and entertain crowds through music. I want to open my own studio to enable artists to work directly alongside each other through the creation process.
What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I want the reader to know that I am a real person, I live and breath what my sounds and lyrics predict. I use the notes app on my phone to capture written thoughts of lyrics during my daily life. I create beats each and everyday, some get made into full songs, others get stored away and used as stepping stones to get to another level within the beat creation process. I want the reader to know that I am constantly striving to progress and evolve with my music creations and I have my own creation lane, I do not use loops, I create all the samples organically. I want you to know that my music will someday be heard on the #1 slot of the billboard charts, in your favorite movie soundtrack whether that be as the producer or as the artists, possibly both so keep an eye out for me.
What is your artist name? As of current I go by “SemiDubs”(after god knows how many rebrandings). Just a simple, easier to remember version of my old name.
What kind of music do you make? Mostly Dubstep, Though you’ll catch my work soon through some hip hop artists as well like MODO, ChillmindSunni, and Karnevor to name a few.
First, Don’t let a genre bind you. From lofi, to hip hop, to dubstep, to something resembling riddim but not quite. I have released many an odd combination. The reason why is because when you do that you don’t develop a comfort zone to get stuck in. you can still keep your “Sound” or “uniqueness” per-say even when crossing those boundaries. each style of music has its own tricks and niche things about it. Each and every one of them influence me and my work.So in turn, I want to learn them all.
How old are you and when did you start creating music? Well, Older than you would expect probably. I’m 32, And i started making Music in this Genre Probably about 8 months ago. I say it like that because i’ve been making music for a very long time now just not in one particular category. I have been playing guitar for years, and was even in a very awful punk band in my teen years. One of my sisters boyfriends many years back brought over a DJ setup to our house (for being such a hipster he was pretty cool sometimes) 2 turntables, a mix board and a bunch of vinyls I was 14 and i was hooked. it was only recently that a producer buddy of mine named “FluxDaddy” got me interested in making music in a DAW. and now here we are.
What are your goals when it comes to your music career? Honestly, I just wanna play shows. I’ve led a pretty odd life, and its not like its been Ultra-Sh!##y or anything but i’m hoping music can put me in a place where i can show my kids a life a little more fun than the one i had.
What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? That i make it in the interest of Entertainment. I’m Actually just out here to play some S#!t in the background and hope some people like the feel of it. Have you ever felt like life itself needed a soundtrack or background music for when your’e just living life? That’s where a lot of my music thoughts come from. What song would playing in the background of YOUR life right now?
What is your artist name? My artist name is KARMAA!
What kind of music do you make? I don’t know that I fit into any genre but if I had to pick I’d say Hip Pop. I don’t box myself into one genre. Music is fluid. I’m heavily influenced by the ladies of the 80’s/90’s with just a sprinkle of the early 2000’s and a dash of what you hear today as well as a ton of LGBTQ artists. My music started off as trying to fit in but as of late my music is how I want it and is very me. It’s known fact that I’m gay now but my music is still relatable for everyone. I’ve challenged myself to make kid friendly music but is still enjoyable for teens, young adults and adults. I want people to accept themselves, realize everyone struggles and remember that it’s not how many times we get knocked down but how many times we get back up. Hitting rock bottom just means there’s only one way to go, and that’s up.
How old are you and when did you start creating music? I have always been in love with music. My mom said I was dancing and singing before I was walking and talking. I started writing poetry when I was 12 or 13. From there it became writing songs of all genres. I have a few country songs, a few pop, but mostly rap, hip hop and R&B. I didn’t actually start creating music until I was 23. Then at 25 I started to really create and release.
What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goal is to have music as a full time career, live debt free, provide a life for my parents that they’ve only dreamt of and travel the word helping others through music. I also want to attend the Grammys at least once.
What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I want them to know that it’s okay to be serious, it’s okay to have fun, it’s okay to be you. My music is unique because every song is different. My intention was to reach as many ears as I can by having as many sounds as possible. One sound doesn’t fit everyone unfortunately. With that being said, theres nothing wrong with one sound either. Just be YOU.
What is your artist name? My artist name, Fogey, is actually a nickname I was given in 4th grade. It stems from my last name Fogelstrom, and when the time came to choose an artist name, I just ran with the one everybody knew me by already. It’s pronounced the same way you would say “Old Fogey”. Fun fact, Fogey is also listed as a noun in the dictionary, which I find to be humorous and somewhat ironic. It says: a person, typically an old one, who is considered to be old-fashioned or conservative in attitude or tastes. I guess I was just born with an old soul lol
What kind of music do you make? I make Hip-Hop/Rap music. More specifically, I make lyrically charged Hip-Hop/Rap.
My style of music is lyrical storytelling. Typically, my songs have strong messages, and a clear topic that each verse adds to. I grew up on early Hip-Hop, where it was more about what you were saying than how good the beat or production was, or how the vibe felt. It was about speaking your truth and connecting with people on common ground, it was meant to inspire and uplift. One of my earliest inspirations was the Bay Area Legend, E-40. His lingo and delivery really stood out to me, and he was always speaking from experience. I have been a fan since grade school listening to him on cassette tapes, and continue drawing inspiration from him today because 40 is still going strong after all these years, and he shows that you can keep pushing no matter what age if the people connect with it. That’s what I strive to make; timeless music.
Some other influences of mine are, Talib Kweli, Black Thought, Eminem, Tupac, Madchild, Joyner Lucas, Busta Rhymes, Atmosphere, Zion I, Brother Ali, Grieves, Chris Webby, NF, and I’m sure I can come up with more but these artists have been impactful over the years. Their lyrics, production, delivery/cadence, creativity, conviction, and content are what pull me in.
That’s what I’ve always aimed for when writing my own music. Something that will pull people in on a relatable level. I never really know what each song is going to be before I create it, I just let the mood of the beat dictate what comes out. And I don’t actually write anything down, over the years my process has evolved into just thinking up lyrics, then memorizing them and practicing as I go. I listen to the beat, I start to hear syllables in my head of how my cadence should be, and depending on how the beat makes me feel, I start filling in the syllables with words. It builds from there. Rather than having to scratch out lines or words on paper or my phone, I just scrap em and edit in my head. Sometimes this way of creating lyrics is longer, but the payoff is that as soon as I’ve finished creating the lyrics, I have memorized them all. This comes in clutch when it comes to recording, or doing live shows. I know exactly how I want to deliver it, how to deliver it, and it ultimately saves a ton of time in the studio. I also believe that not having to read while trying to record allows you to focus more on the feeling you’re trying to portray in the lyrics, which the audience will connect with more. And that’s what its all about to me; being able to reach the audience in an impactful way. I want the listener to feel inspired in some way.
How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 38 years old. Turning 39 this year. Growing into my artist name nicely lol.
Jokes aside, I know the music industry is a ‘young man’s game’, but I’m not playing a game. I’ve never been after fame or clout, I’ve never been after record deals, I’ve never been one that chases trends. I make music because I love to make it, and it has been a positive impact in some people’s lives. I’ve been slowly gaining fans and supporters over 21 years of pursuing my craft. I started writing poetry in 4th grade, something I kept doing all through school. When I was 17, I started freestyling and entertaining friends at parties. When I turned 18, I started actually writing lyrics to beats and creating full songs. I even made my own beats and recorded with very primitive technology to make a mixtape to handout to my friends and people at house parties. No joke, I used the original Playstation with a game called MTV Music Generator to make beats. This game had a library of sounds, drums, and loops that you could use to build beats. It was mainly full of techno samples, but if you played with the tempo you could get some funky rap beats out of it. From there, I would plug my Playstation into my stereo, and record the beats to a cassette tape. Then I would put in another new tape, plug in a cheap $8 microphone from Radio Shack, and start recording my raps over the beats onto the new tape. To add backup vocals or hypes, I would just add another new tape and rap over the tape I just made. After a handful of throwaway tapes, I finally had a product I was proud of, and it’s been building ever since…
What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goals in my music career are pretty basic.
First off, make quality music that people can connect with. I want to be remembered by how impactful my music was, not just how it sounded.
I would like to book more live shows and festivals.
I want to invest more in marketing and promos to continue getting my music out to potential listeners.
I would LOVE to make a living off my music, which would be the ultimate goal. However, I do have a fear of success. Leaving my family for long tours and possibly changing the direction of all of our lives is something that scares me a bit. Sacrificing the relationships with my wife and two children is something I’m not sure I’m willing to do to make a living in this industry. I’ll never get this time back with my kids.
What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I guess I would like the reader to know that my music is unique. I sing a little, my raps are somewhat melodic sometimes, my beats are different, and my lyrics are meaningful. Since the days of cassette tapes, I have built a solid fanbase, rocked countless shows and several festivals with artists E-40, Sir Mix-A-Lot, Krizz Kaliko, Layzie Bone, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Ying Yang Twins, Haystak, Juicy J, and Madchild.
I have also had the honor of getting features from both E-40, and Madchild on two songs of mine. “Show Me Love” ft. E-40 x Cool Nutz x Q Dot, and “Born to Be Free” ft. Madchild x JC Flow. These features mean so much to me, I grew up in a small town area with no music scene, and both of these artists had a tremendous impact in my pursuit to become an artist myself. What was once just a ‘lofty goal’ became a reality, because I pushed and grinded for it. I gained respect from artists I grew up listening to, and that’s something I will always view as success no matter where my career goes from here.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope you dig my music!
What kind of music do you make? Hip-hop, pop, R&B, vaporwave and trap. The kind of music I make really depends on my mood for the day. I usually make my best songs like “She Know’s” “Ride With Me To The Moon But Don’t Play Yourself” (long title I know lol) and I Need Space at night time when I’m about to go to sleep. The creativity you get from being sleepy is something people rarely talk about. My influencers are Prince and Michael Jackson when I wanna break boundaries that I’ve created on purpose to get out of my comfort zone. It’s also one of the reasons I don’t just do Rap. Beck when I wanna give some experimental vibes. 2chainz when I feel like showing off lyrics by saying so little but so much at once. As far as r&b goes I just like to write for people my singing voice isn’t the best yet. Some of my lyrics are to inspire, and some are made to make you have fun.
How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m 27 and I started at 13
What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goals are to win a Grammy, perform in front of a sea of people singing my songs at the Staples Center in LA and The Fox Theater in Detroit. Also but most importantly I want fans of mine to realize that you are not alone at all! You can always be better than you were yesterday and remember can’t nobody be you, why would you want them to be you they can’t even compare or compete.
What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? Know this, “Beezy Brown is the COOLEST in TOWN and if you don’t know you need and will find out so get with it or get out.” My music is better when you are riding through your city, riding with your mate, or just at home with the sounds loud ready to dance and go wild. So just enjoy it and go tell your friends about it.If you see me in public speak I wont bite. I don’t take disrespect lightly so be careful. I’m here to influence you and drive you, but don’t idolize.
