Stevie Gox

What is your artist name? My artist name is Stevie Gox.

What kind of music do you make? I’m not exactly tied to any genre; however, I draw my inspiration mostly from old blues, rock and rock’n’roll. I try to keep my music positive and uplifting. I love 60s, 70s and 80s blues and rock and my influences are the likes of Mark Knopfler, Eric Clapton, Joe Bonamassa and B.B. King among others. I write, produce, record and mix my own songs so they are all from my own experience and from the heart. My inspiration mostly comes from my daily life and my family which has been my biggest supporter on this journey.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I grew up in musical family, so I was always surrounded by music, but I started creating my own music at 34. At that point I had a stable career and needed to focus my free time on something constructive and creative, so music was a perfect choice.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career?
My goals are simple, I just want to create music and share it to whoever wants to listen. I’m not looking to become a world star; I’m just enjoying what I do, and I want to share that with others.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music?
I’m just getting started. At the time of writing this I published two of my songs. I have three I am actively working on and many more written that are waiting to be recorded. So, stick around because there is more coming!

Still Life With Cat “The Child”

Where did the name of this song come from? The song’s name is The Child and it has been inspired by the book “The road” by Cormac McCarthy which first characters are father and son.

How long does it take for you to write a song and how long did this one take you write? Writing a song for us it means engaging two minds and two souls: usually words come first with Alessandro, after comes Giampiero who compose the music. Together they decide the song’s structure, mood, first arrangement. About The Child the writing did not take too long because we had clear ideas about that. Only one thing, first title was Water here’s why that dripping sound.

What is your favorite part of this song? Why?  Favorite parts of this song are both the long intro and outro of sax (for which we are very grateful to Piero Delle Monache) and the chorus. Because with the sax we were able to merge acoustic and electronic instruments with a long intense melodic sound and into the chorus Lisa’s vocal is really involving and ethereal.

When people listen to this song, what do you want them to take away as far as message? This is the ninth song of our concept album Megadream and it talks of a dystopian shattered world. The “megadream” is over now and mankind wakes up in front of the true reality. But hope is everywhere, even among ruins. And so the title The Child.

Do you think this song represents who you are as a artist? Yes, because it has a deep concept and an intense and involving mood. This song represents our vision of music that takes its roots in some way with the sound of Pink Floyd. What we’d like to explain is that when we write song we don’t have any fetter if not the good taste. We make music for passion and is the passion we hope listeners feel through the music.

Behind The Playlist Caviar Music

So, I want to start off by saying I noticed a lot of artists talking about Caviar Music on Twitter. Some I recognized and some, not so much. I clicked links and listened to a few tracks. I enjoyed the diversity among the artist and the vibrant sounds highlighted the credibility of all the mentions.

I reached out to Caviar Music and requested a opportunity to write about his work. Polite and very humble it was clear from the beginning he is a man on a mission. When asked about his work he diverted the conversation back to the artist. So from the Artist perspective let’s begin our journey.

Twitter Mentions:

“Big love to @_CaviarMusic_ who is an amazing supporter of musicians and added my new single Trapped In A Cage to this great playlist. Check it out folks. Music is very much in need these days” – @yanaceol on Spotify

“Thankful for @_CaviarMusic_ adding me to a playlist” – @HiraethXIII_ on Spotify

“This awesome playlist from @_CaviarMusic_ is just what everyone needs. It’s pure[fire] – @AardvaakM on YouTube

and many more. The gratitude artist publicly display show that there is a valuable bond between the artist and Caviar Music.

Who is Caviar Music?

Caviar Music is a playlist curator on Spotify and has over 2 years experience providing platforms for indie artist to get heard. An example of his playlist catalog includes, “Uncut Gems” “CaviarMusic – (March Edition)” and “HITS 2020”. A great place to find up and coming Artist from all over the world if you are a fan of good music.

Playlists like these make it easy to find a diverse selection of music. All genres and artist of all skill levels can be found in his Twitter mentions thanking him for his help with their music promotion. What makes Caviar Music’s playlist unique is that he invests the time and energy to place artist he has personally selected for each project. This not only secures a unique experience for the artist but also the typical music lover.

undefined

His desire to help artist is rooted in his own experience as a struggling artist trying to get heard. Playlist curators, like many entertainment professionals, typically charge or have a odd way of selecting artist for their projects and Caviar Music wanted to create opportunities that any artist could benefit from.

He makes it clear that he does not charge for placement and he also promotes the content that the artist create on their own as another form of support. Because of this, you know that you are going to hear quality artist when you follow a Caviar Music link.

Caviar Music wants artists to know someone out there wants to listen to their music. They want to discover new sounds and artists. Not all curators charge. Thats his main point.

He encourages artist to continue seeking out curators that welcome their music. His advice: stay away from anyone charging you. Stick to the plan and enjoy creating music.

Another reason why people who value good music should tune in. A genuine person who is providing a way for music lovers to discover raw talent from all over the world.

Follow Caviar Music on Twitter and Spotify as well as the artist featured on his playlists if you enjoyed this write up as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Robby Monroe – Say My Name

Where did the name of this song come from? The name really came from the chorus of the song at first. This is basically a remake of a classic Destiny Child’s song called Say My Name. What I do with my version of the song is make it an introduction to me as an artist. Hence the title being Say My Name (Robby).

How long does it take for you to write a song and how long did this one take you write? I can normally write a song in about 15 minutes flat when I’m in a really creative space. But most times it can take a long time. Sometimes even months. That can sound crazy but for certain songs, I like to let life happen to me so I can write from personal experience. Music is personal so I want to be able to have real experiences and emotions behind what I’m writing about. For this track, Say My Name (Robby), it didn’t take too long. It took about my usual 15 or even shorter because the melody and the chorus was done for me.

What is your favorite part of this song? Why? I have actually two favorite parts of the song. One is the sound effects. The original beat didn’t have the car horn and the door slam in it. When I wrote the second verse I could hear those sounds and just knew they needed to be in there to give the song more spunk. So happy my amazing engineer Andrew Clapp worked that in there for me so well and effortlessly. My favorite second part is the end of the song when it’s mainly all me singing. I am a Beyonce fan so when I was thinking of how to end this song, I remembered a rendition of how she would end the Say My Name song Live on stage. I tried really hard to recreate that with all the harmonies and vocal power with saying my name. I love the end result and how it ends is so me. This song is a true representation of who I am as a creative.

When people listen to this song, what do you want them to take away as far as message? Message wise, I want people to be interested in who I am as an artist. First I want them to have my name, Robby Monroe, in their brain forever. But then I want them to catch the references I use, the attention to musical details, the writing style and clever word play. To know that this song is, at face value, a breakup song that references Destiny Child’s. But when you go deeper, it’s showing some yet discovered potential and a musical mind unmatched.

Do you think this song represents who you are as a artist? Completely in terms of writing and structure, but I do have more in me vocally.

End with a message for the reader For those who are reading this for whatever reason, I hope you take the chance on me. There are so many countless independent artist who are all at so many different levels and stages of this game and everyone wants to be heard. I don’t know what exactly makes someone give an unfamiliar artist a chance, but I thank you in advance if you give me one. I love all of my fans that I call MyLights. That’s a reference from an older song I did but basically, if I am the “star” then I wont ever shine without my fans aka MyLights. You all help me shine. Each listener, watcher, reader of this article helps me shine and I know that. I am thankful for every moment of shine I get and I am always welcoming new comers. I hope whoever is reading this will want to be apart of MyLights and be behind someone who is so dedicated to his craft and this journey with music.

K Lady M

What is your artist name? K Lady M

What kind of music do you make? I make a variety of music that ranges from Progressive trance, Drum & Bass, Industrial  House music, Hiphop – Grime, Dubstep e.g but mainly Acoustic folk music is my cup of tea as of late where my vocals compliment the melody and match my poetry, so I began to develop it. My music is made to touch the soul of others, I write from the heart all about the experiences of various events going on or had happened in the past that I’ve learned from on my life journey,  the good and the bad – if i’m writing an emotionally sad song, I aim to focus the words on positivity when we get to the bridge because I prefer to turn everything into a positive outlook – its the way my vision goes, I bounce back from things, soldiering on through. Writing to inspire my listeners – wanting them to keep in mind that no matter what they might be going through – to know that nothing is really as bad as it feels, I write to give them courage to power on through. My poetry is all about motivational quotes and mindful wisdom. My biggest influences were and always will be Eminem, Avril Lavigne, 2 PAC, Bob Marley, Cheryl Cole, Katy Rose, Depeche Mode, The Verve, Oasis, Manic Street Preachers, Snow Patrol, Keane, Linking Park, Leona Lewis, Tulisa, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Cold Play,  Moby and more. I resonate with their perspectives on life, love and the universe. Artists that speak truth into their songs with real emotion is what inspires me to keep writing my songs, and sharing them with the world – any song that can make the hair on my neck rise and send chills down my spine get my attention.
I love artists who bring a sense of harmony to the world and those who are deep to the core. I connect with spiritual artists.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m 33 years old. I started creating music at around 17 years old, I was determined to get my words of poewitical expression out in the rap scene – so began joining in live auditions and rap battles on and offline, the actual inspiration to write came about from 15 onwards while listening to Avril Lavigne – ‘I’m with you’, ‘Mobile’, ‘Losing Grip’ and ‘Complicated’ , but the sound creation came much later at ripe ol’ age of 17. I studied First Diploma Level 2 Performing Arts at college along with Art & Media which included music technology, we had the opportunity to use the music studio and since then I fell in love with the way everything looked and operated – it was fascinating!

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My biggest goal is for my music to hit music channels, radio shows globally and succeed in bringing change to the world through my words. Making the planet a more positive place inspired by my life and my journey, bringing everybody along with me. Also I am the host/owner of Gadget G Radio – I built that music community up because I wanted to reach out to more artists who like myself may have waited a life time to get discovered, being underground is frustrating but you got to keep yourself moving even when the days feel like a drag at times – my radio community is set on helping to boost people back up and work with them to get them heard. Playing it forward = Priceless # Because respect doesn’t come with a price tag, we are all in this together creating beautiful music , painting our own colourful stories and what better way to unite as one – Gadget G Radio plays everything mainstream doesn’t . giving the underground artists a voice! The future goal of my radio career is to ensure it stays and impacts many music industries for the better. Growing our team and making waves much bigger than the mainstream.
