What is your artist name? Skylar Love

What kind of music do you make? I am a singer songwriter, my songs have an angst edge to them. I try to write about things that not only my age group can relate to, but even adults can relate to. My main influences come from Queen, David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Harry Styles, and so much more. I want my listeners to sit down and feel like they wrote the song, almost like I’m saying exactly what their feeling. I find It’s important to try and write about basic topics such as, love and breakup, but it’s also great to expand your topics. Like writing about a loved ones death, suicide, depression, happiness, a certain feeling or smell or even a color that makes you feel a certain way. I like to try and challenge myself by putting myself in someones shoes and try to not only write about my own personal experiences. 

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m 14 years old. I’ve been writing since first grade, starting with poems and books and short stories. But, I began to find my love for music around 9-10. I started by writing songs and then wrote my first song with piano. I felt so excited and motivated to just keep going from there because now I found and outlet to let all my feelings out. I then kept writing from there on out, this year I became more fascinated with the Ukulele and Guitar, which I just began playing this past winter.  

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goals are to reach more people with my music and just enjoy myself and go as far as I can get. I really want to start playing out more places maybe even one day having a concert of my own, or even opening up for someone. 

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I want the readers to know that I really do love my craft and I just like to have fun. I have a mindset that work is never work if you’re doing what you love and this is what I love. I just want to put a smile on peoples faces when they hear me sing and I want them to sing my lyrics back at me because I feel that there’s nothing more rewarding.

What is your artist name? My artist name is AintIRue (Ain’t•I•Roo)

What kind of music do you make? The kind of music I make is confessional music. The music I make would be considered TrapSoul and Hip-Hop but I call it confessional music because of my ability to sing and rap but apply it to today’s rap schemes my greatest influencer are my older cousin Bryson Tiller, Derez Deshon, lil Wayne, 2pac, Koly P, And Pleasure P. It doesn’t take me long to write my music because I write as things accrue in my life so I’d like for my fans or people who tune in to be able to relate to me because I deal with reality 99% of the time like they do and with the other percent

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 23 years old and I started creating my music a year ago

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goal is to live forever… they say a man is only measured by what he leaves for his family. I know I can’t live forever but my music can because it’s timeless music I know when I make something of myself when it’s all said and done my family won’t just be proud of me they’ll honor me how the Bible says a wife or child should honor the man of the house cause by then I would have Earned it .

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I would like the readers to know that me as person I’m just a man, I’m a father taking it day by day to teach my child that anything is possible long as you don’t give up and my music is nothing but testimonies from my trials n tribulations in relationship, friendships, and life in general. I try find a way to vent and I do that through my lyrics n videos to show exactly what I’m dealing with and for them to see how I have the same problems they do on a everyday basis this could help them deal with there problem or even feel a little better bout wat their going through because to know someone else might have it just as bad as they do makes a person appreciate there struggles or problems a lot more if that makes since.

What is your artist name? DaNamesLB

What kind of music do you make? I make hip-hop/rap & r&b music! One of my biggest influences is Logic because of his positive music & crazy lyrical ability! I tend to never write down my hooks. I usually make a beat or have a beat ready and “hum” melodies and create the hook first, then I record it, mix it a lil, then write to it. I hope to influence others with my lyrics & my unique style, so others could be inspired to never give af what others think of being different. 

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 24 & I been making music since I was 13, but at the beginning I didn’t plan to take it serious until later down the road. 

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? Some of my goals is to become a songwriter for other artists, a producer (I also make beats), go on tour, have my music on tv/movies, learn how to engineer: mix & master for other artists & have my “Elevate & Create” clothing brand be worn by millions!

What is your artist name? My name is Will Strother II. As an artist I go by “Stro Stylez” and I’m from Windsor, CT by way of Springfield, MA.

What kind of music do you make? I make Hip Hop and R&B music. When it comes to music I don’t think many do what I do. I know everyone believes that but my case is different. I still take pride in lyricism. I don’t allow my sound to lose that essence of Hip Hop. Making it a point to rhyme over beats similar to the golden era that you only get from groups like Griselda. At the same time I understand how important it is to adapt to the new climate. What’s interesting is I’m from this current generation but don’t automatically associate with the sound. I’ve now found the balance that allows me to perform over beats with a more trap / club bounce. As a result of starting music at a young age I’ve always been inspired by R&B. Nurturing this love has given me the advantage that all artist today need which is the ability to sing. What ties all of this together is my production. When I began recording music I didn’t have anyone to produce so I had to do it myself. I’ve grown to know exactly what keys and tempos I sound best in.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I just turned 24 years old. I started rapping when I was 8 and started producing at 12.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? When it comes to music I want to remain independent. There’s no point in being the biggest in the world if I can’t keep control of my vision. I’m willing to take things slow to make my own major machine. Originals Crew Music Group will be that major machine.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I want the listener to hear my music like a movie. It’s not a story told in chronological order but a series of moments from the journey. No matter what I feel, happy or sad I don’t always have someone to call that can relate. However I have always had a song I can turn on that speaks to what I’m feeling. I’ve always liked the idea that I’m doing that for someone else even when I’m not trying to.

What is your artist name? My artist name is DoubleOh7 

What kind of music do you make? I make indie & rap music. The kind of music I make is mostly a upbeat, party worthy type of vibe, very original and raw. What inspires my music is life! It’s so many twist and turns in life no matter where you’re from or what you do, my job is to manifest it into a song to make people feel what I felt or how others might. My Ep “Hero2Villian” reflects a perfect example of what’s more to come. I was inspired to pursue my music by artist such as Lauryn Hill, Kanye West, Chris Brown, Twista, Aaliyah, Wale, Lil wayne, Lupe Fiasco, Usher, and T.i. The message I want my listeners to take from my lyrics and production is that everybody goes through things but what you do with it and your perception is yours!

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 29 years old, I started creating music when I was 11 and really started to pursue it a few years ago.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goal first and foremost is to express myself through music in a way to inspire, motivate, and have a good time, then turn it into my job.

What kind of music do you make? Hype/conscious music. First starting out I made conscious rap, then I started getting into different styles and learned how to make hit songs. I was heavily influenced by artists like Nas, Tupac, Lil Wayne, and Ludacris. When I was a kid I would sit in front of the TV and watch music videos all day. I was always a fan of metaphors, poetry and wordplay so I tend to use those methods a lot in my music. I like it when I can make my listeners think, like “oh when he said that, he meant this!”. There aren’t many storytellers or rappers who expand their listeners ways of thinking nowadays because music has become so disposable we just get straight to the point. I like to think I can do that but drop a few gems and make people think twice about certain things, that is, if they want to.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? Many will be shocked by this but I’m 30yrs old now. I started making music when I was 19 and wrote my first rap when I was 12. It’s been a while lol

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I don’t really need to be filthy rich. But my goal is to touch the hearts of my fans and be financially stable from my music to be able to take care of my family and myself.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I want them to know that my overall message has ALWAYS been to be yourself. In other words, “Live Free” which is a tattoo I have on my chest. It means to live free from judgement and conforming to society because we tend to neglect who we really are for the approval of others. I’m no stranger to it. What kind of music do you make? I like all types of music but my favorites would have to be hip-hop, r&b and rock. I make music you can escape to. My influences range from the doors, to 2pac, to The Weeknd. Artist that pour real emotions to their craft and aren’t afraid to be original. I just want the listener to give the music a chance and take whatever they can take from it, lose themselves in the moment. I write lyrics to inspire and motivate you to never stop and keep going.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? Just turned 26 this year and I only been making and taking my tracks seriously since 3 years ago. I didn’t start making music until I was 23.

What is your artist name? I’m Chelzzz. My government name is Chelsea and I like to keep it real. I didn’t wanna be another “lil so and so”

What kind of music do you make? I’m pretty versatile when I write but my style definitely falls into the HipHop category. My main influences growing up were Nicki Minaj, Lil Kim, Eminem, Ludacris and many more…these days I listen to a lot more underground local artists. I throw showcases once a month to put on for the local artists both in and out of my state. I’ve heard a lot of REALLY dope artists that no ones had the opportunity to hear. I just wanna give back with this and give everyone the opportunity that I wasn’t handed. I want everyone to feel what they are meant to feel when they listen to my vibe, you don’t have to enjoy every song but if you can relate to at least one then that’s inspiring.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’ve been writing since I was a youngin, I finally started taking this shit seriously when I moved to FL about 5 years ago. I’m 27 now.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I wanna bring people together with my music, make people feel good. Personally, I would love to “make it big” but everyone has their process. Where ever this takes me…I’m not gonna stop. Music is a part of me whether people fuck with me heavy or I just keep the steady support I have.

What is your artist name? Spyder Darling is the name. Guitar slinging and rock and roll singing is the game.

What kind of music do you make? I make both kinds of music: rock and roll. With dashes of glam and punk, for flavor. My music is a mix of everything that has resonated with me since the late ’70s: Sex Pistols, Ramones, David Bowie, T-Rex, New York Dolls, Johnny Thunders, Chuck Berry GN’R and a bit of the ol’ Buckcherry and munch, munch, more. My process is different for every song. Sometimes it’s a riff, other times it’s something I overheard on the street, or a comment I might make to myself. Inspiration abounds you just have to pick it from the universal tree. My songs are a glimpse into what I am feeling at a certain point in time. It’s up to the listener to decide if it’s something they can relate to or back away slowly from, though good luck getting the chorus out of your shaking head. As for production, for the most part I play everything but drums and try and get it all done, Rogret Corman style, as quickly as possible. Usually two or three sessions, with the help of my co-prodcer extaordinaire Nelson Montana at his studio in Hells Kitchen, NYC.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m old enough to know better, still too young to care. I started writing music in high school, back when Jimmy Carter was president and sex, drugs and rock and roll were the unholy trinity.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? Well global domination of course. Other than that, taking the listener on a joyride through a day in the life of Spyder Darling and hopefully making enough to afford another pair of leather pants in the process.
