AtariJones

What is your artist name? AtariJones

What kind of music do you make? I consider myself to make my own genre of music, Titled #IndieStonerRap, it’s a mixture of all genres excluding gospel and country. The music I make I feel is original, with original messages and an authentic feel, helping the consumer feel the realness of my music. My influences would just be life itself, because you can always experience something new in life. As far as my process, if an instrumental speaks to me, that is how i usually go about making the song, the emotion the beat gives me. I would like my listeners to take their own assumptions on my music, because even if I do tell them what to take from it, everyone will still take their own things from the music because of everyone having their own perspectives.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I was around 12 years of age going on 13

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goals are to become mainstream of course, but have my musical creations expand into all markets. Showing people that anything is possible and you can become whatever you want and dream to become.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I would like readers to know I am very serious about my craft and that my music and production represents this, have a open mind when listening and you will catch all the messages I pour out!

RIPJoaquin

What is your artist name? RIPJoaquin but I go by JAC. So yea, technically my artist name is ripjoaquin but y’all could call me JAC.

What kind of music do you make?
It varies. I don’t really make just like one type of music. I’m big on being versatile so maybe one day I wanna rap over a hard hitting beat while the next day I wanna lay vocals on a lovey dovey vibe. It’s definitely something new and I love how I really don’t sound the same on every song. Versatility is key. But if I had to nail it to a certain style I would definitely say melodic, dark, mellow, and fire. Definitely, I make fire music. It’s all a vibe. I write my music based on the vibe the beat gives me and the energy I have at the current moment. I have freestyled about 50% of all my songs made to date but I definitely prefer to sit down and pour my feelings onto a pad. I don’t write music ahead of time if that makes sense like let’s say I have a session today I will write every song for this session today. Going into the session with the energy for the song still fresh in my head is crucial. I want the world to really feel what I’m saying. I want them to feel those goosebumps every time they play my records. I want them to hear a line or two that gets embedded in their brains you feel me. Something that hits their hearts. To me it’s all about spreading positivity into the world and if someone plays one of my records and gets inspired or motivated to complete a goal they’ve wanted then I’ve completed my mission. Too many artists nowadays push the youth into the hands of wrongdoing and I’m here to do the complete opposite!

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I just turned 23. It’s my Jordan year so it’s time we start taking off! So I started freestyling for fun with one of my boys (Shoutout Jay!) and as time progressed I would get better and I would surprise myself. My boy Jay, my boy Adham (Currently my manger) , and I even made a song during that time called “Dollar Figures” on a voice memo wit the beat playing in the background. It wasn’t till my freshman year of college that I went and recorded my first real song called “That Night” which is one of my favorites still to this day! Everyone in my city was busy tryna make the same trap style and I knew I had to make something different to stand out so I got in tune with my emotions and created a song where I poured my feelings out. It was towards a girl who I dated for a long time actually and I wasn’t the best boyfriend towards her so it’s basically an apology to her. After that song I knew I had something special in me. Not only were the lyrics relatable but right then and there I knew my voice was made for this.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? Definitely to make a change not only in the rap game but the whole world. I want people to change their perspective on what a “rapper” should look like. I have an empire I am currently building with my right hand man/brother/best friend/ manager Adham Ziyadeh. I owe him the world he’s been nothing but loyal to me and believed in me from the second I told him I wanted to start making music. I have premonitions of winning multiple grammys, being in a horror film and being nominated for an Oscar, building a new basketball court in my hometown, starting my own soccer league, landing a sponsorship with Hennessy, and so much more. I could sit here and name you all my goals all day! Music is just going to be my platform to the rest of my success!

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music?
Chase your f***ing dreams! The sky ain’t the limit shoot higher! There’s gonna be a lot of people along the way that laugh at you when you tell them your dreams and if they don’t then you aren’t shooting high enough. You want people to think it’s impossible so that when you make it happen you prove to them that nothing is impossible. Your energy is sacred and you could literally do anything to put your mind to. Hate to sound cliché but it’s the truth! Thank you guys for tuning into a brief summary of JAC and what I’m about and I hope reading this made you believe in my vision even more. I have a song called “Freeze Frame” dropping soon hosted by Dave East! Definitely something you don’t wanna miss out so follow me on Instagram to stay tuned! Love you all and remember that you are capable of whatever you put your mind to! JAC OUT! (Drops mic)

Uncle Kaysell

What is your artist name? Uncle Kaysell

What kind of music do you make? Blends of Hip-Hop/Funk/R&B – Since I started writing, 12, I tried to tell some sort of a story in my music. Once I started releasing music, 19, I loved the conscious side of hip-hip. As I got older, I loved the creative process of it more and being as well-composed as possible. I believe in artistry and creative music. Prince is my biggest influence with how he blends all genres, instruments, and passion into his music. If you can take anything from my lyrics and songs is that I do this because I truly love it. I make music, not songs. Theres no label you can give me that I would accept. I don’t like being called a rapper, singer, producer, etc. I just released a hip-hop song and the following single is jazz-infused with harmonies as the leads. Coming from a musical back ground and playing multiple instruments, I believe in experimenting and the creative process.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? 12 is then I started writing, 19 recording

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? To live off it. Grammy is on my bucket list, but to be in the industry and support myself.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? Its my art. I do it all, I write all my lyrics and am involved in production and mastering. I am the art, and I want people to enjoy it and love/hate it. FEEL SOMETHING to it… I don’t care what the emotion is, just have it. I see music, so I try to put it the best way I can to the audience.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I started making music when I was 12 yrs old and I recently started to take it serious.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goals are to gain and maintain, and also to push forward in the music industry.

Rowan Murphy

What is your artist name? My artist name is my real name and that is Rowan Murphy.

What kind of music do you make? I make hip-hop music, a genre I love and have listened to and studied for as long as I can remember. If I had to subcategorise myself within hip-hop, I’d say I’m a lyrical rapper. Every song tells a story about a part of my life, something I’ve been through, one of my own experiences or my own views/opinions on a particular topic. I have many influences, all stemming back to the music I listen to. Pusha T, Kanye West, Eminem, Nas, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are all guys I listen to regularly and I try to study. My process is simple, I’ll scout for beats first, and I love a beat that tells a story itself without any lyrics on it. That helps me to know which direction I want to go in creatively with that beat, and once I’ve got that, I begin writing and recording. Everything I’ve ever rapped is real, so I just want the listener to know that you can go through hard times and rough patches, and come through it.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m 23 years old. I’ve been writing music for years and years but I only started turning the dream into a reality and actually recording and releasing my music in 2019.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? Obviously everyone who makes music would love to blow up and that’s always the main objective, but I’m also a realistic guy. I understand there are so many talented musicians trying every day to make it big, and I understand only a small percentage will. So my main goal is to keep making the music that I enjoy and love, and to stay true to myself. If one person listens to my music and it helps them get through a rough patch and encourages them to put it into something positive and creative, then that means more to me than any amount of fame or money ever could.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? As I’ve briefly mentioned, everything I write comes from within. It’ll either be something I’ve been through, something I’ve seen, a personal experience, or my views/opinions on a particular subject. So I would want anyone reading this to know that I’m just a real guy who speaks his truth, and I hope people can hear that in my lyrics and enjoy the music more knowing that.

Le Mak

What is your artist name? Le Mak

What kind of music do you make? Alternative and experimental music. I’d like to call the music I make as music driven by emotion. I’d like the listener to always feel some sort of emotion when playing any record of mine. On the Horizon[s] EP, it was hard for me to put a set genre to it, so I’d rather let the listener put it in a genre. The music I make is inspired by producer pushing the boundaries of music production like Flying Lotus, Bonobo, TOKiMONSTA and many more.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 23 and I was 15 years old when I started creating music.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goal as a music producer is to make music that inspires and music that can be timeless. My other goals would be getting a placement on a Billboard album, winning a Grammy and releasing my first full length album under a major label.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I’m a 23 year old producer based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Low End Theory is my alter ego, when producing as my alter ego it’s just all about really being experimental during the music making process and also trying to fuse all my favourite genres into one. As Le Mak, I produce hip hop, R&B and afro pop music.

Notorious G

What is your artist name? Notorious G

What kind of music do you make? I make hip-hop/rap music. The way I write music, I feel makes me very unique. I want to connect with people while telling a story. I am very lyrical, and I take every line seriously, each line must matter. My biggest influence is Eminem, and while that may be cliché, it’s true. Since I was little, I grew up on Eminem. Other artists that have influenced me musically would include Russ, NF, and Drake. I want you to hear the heart in my voice and my words and take something from them.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I was very young when I started writing music, I would say around 8 or 9. My cousin and I wrote raps together and back in the day we never used beats. Acapella. I am now about to turn 21 in April so I have been doing music for about 12-13 years.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goal is to be noticed by enough people to be able to go around to different cities and perform for others and keep expressing my message for a living. I don’t have to have the biggest of fame, I love the music. In saying that, I also know my talents are very special and deserve to be shown to the world, the fame will come when it is meant to.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I feel I have a story to tell the world and a plan to help make the world a better more positive place. I quote myself – “The mind can do things you don’t expect it to, a positive mindset could rearrange your life for you” I truly believe in this statement and I hope I can reach each and every one of you in any way possible.
