YNG Trauma

What is your artist name? YNG Trauma

What kind of music do you make?  I make Hip-Hop/Rap music. I’m more of a bars type of rapper. I like to have substance and topics that’s relatable. I like to talk about whats going on in my life and what I been through and my experiences and hope to reach people who’s going through similar situations. I’m mainly influenced by Houston rappers and westcoast rappers. People like 2pac, Chamillionaire, Slim Thug, Dogg Pound, DJ Quik, and UGK. As far as myprocess goes I like to sit in silence maybe vibe to beats for a couple minutes but I usually just write everything acapella. I usually hear a cadence in my head and just get the going when i start writing. I want listeners to know i take my time with my lyrics and writing so i can get it to them in a way that they haven’t heard before because it’s not what you say it’s how you say it.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m 26 I’ve been rapping since i was 13. So a rough 13 years trying to find my own sound and work on my craft.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I always wanted to be on stage and see the reactions of the crowd to the music. It would be a dope accomplishment seeing them rap my songs with me, seeing them hype for me to come on stage. I always wanted to get recognized by the icons i came up listening to. I want longevity if I was ever able to make a break. I want to be able to drop music and people want to go back and listen to it years from now.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I want the readers to know this sound is my music is me. It’s inspired by what I grew up listening to, my surroundings, how i grew up, what i experienced in living 26  years. If you’re a fan of bars, lyrics, substance, someone who can really talk that talk and stand on it then my music is up your alley. it’s something you should get hip to.

Saint Sinclair

What is your artist name? My artist name is Saint Sinclair.

What kind of music do you make? Its hard to say what kind of music I make I just make the music I want and like to make. I would personally say my music is rap/hip-hop, but some might say its too lo-fi, or too urban, I think its all in the listeners experience. Well I work directly with my producer @ sounsbysoy so I have a direct line of communication with my whole production process, and it helps me tune my sound exactly how I want it to come across to the listener. I’ve been in music education my whole life so I like to think I have a good ear and know how some things should sound and be presented. Some of my musical influences are Lucki, babyxsosa, and ilyhook just because I feel like they are really making the music they want to make and aren’t too critical of themselves and how they should sound. I started my modeling career in early 2019 and I try to make sure that has a huge impact on my music in terms of imagery and lyrics. People like Cocorocha lets me know that its beautiful to stay fluid and always push your boundaries.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? So I’ve played instruments since I was 11 and have about 10 years of instrumental experience and I’ve been rapping since I was about 15, I remember me and my friends recording our first EP’s on guitar hero mics, until I sold a pair of Jordans to get a decent microphone.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I just want to be able to share my vibe and experience with like minded individuals, and show people that you don’t have to play the industry game to curate a following.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? My music is very personal and direct, it paints a picture of my lifestyle and everyone around me so I encourage you to pay close attention if you want to stay involved, but at the end of the day still have fun, its no point if you’re not having fun.

Z-Shade-Of-Brown

What is your artist name? My artist name is zshadeofbrown or zshade for short z-shade-of-brown

What kind of music do you make? By style my music is rap. I make music that is unexpected. I may take a really slow beat and rap really fast over it or I may take a faster beat like a drill type and autotune sing over it. Think of a Jay-Z and Uzi mix or even a J Cole and Lil Yatchy mix. When I create my songs I NEVER USE PROFANITY. I create music you can listen to with anyone. I use my lyrics to talk about regular life as a person. Everyone has common struggles and I like to make sure that everyone understands we are all the same at our core. For me, I start with finding a beat. Sometimes this takes awhile because I do not like to choose the popular sound or beat type. After the beat I listen to the beat and freestyle to it to find a flow I like. Then it is writing and recording. Some people who inspire me and my music are T-Pain, my ultimate inspiration, J Cole, Cee Lo Green, Outkast and the newcomer Rod Wave.  From my music, the listener should be able to know that you can be yourself no matter whats going on around you. You do not have to be, sound, look, do what everybody is doing. Create your own identity and stand out from the crowd.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 22 yrs old. I was 5 yrs old when I started creating music.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My first and ultimate goal is to be able to make a full time job out of music. Secondly is to be able to meet all the people who inspired me to do and keep going in music. After that my only other goal is to be relevant in 10 yrs.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? You and your mom can listen to my music with your newborn at a nursing home. I am an open book and I keep it 450%, realer than real.

Flawless D

What is your artist name? My artist name is Flawless D.  Funny thing is, a lot of people’s minds go straight to the gutter and think it means Flawless d*** (male genitals).  I have to quickly correct them and let them know the “D” stands for Diamond.  Which is my birthstone.  I always felt like a diamond in the midst of chaos in my environments throughout my life.  So it only made sense for me to adopt Flawless D as my name.  It’s catchy I think!

What kind of music do you make? I make contemporary music. The genre does not matter as long as I feel the rhythm of the song and beat.  It’s like a secret code my mind has that receives information from sound waves of certain beats.  I can get in tune to it if those frequencies are in tune with me. Well first, I am a new up and coming artist/ songwriter. My style and flavor is a bit on the soulful side. I like to play around a lot with sounds/tones in my songs. Try to defy the norms of music per say by implementing not so perfect notes in areas, or playing around with the lyrics in a way that brings out the beat. My influences range from Donny Hathaway, D’Angelo, Teedra Moses, Missy Elliot, Brandy, Musiq Soulchild, Faith Evans, Beyonce, Frank McComb, Q-tip, Pharrell and many more!  As I mentioned before, there’s a certain vibe that I get from a beat that makes me want to create to it. I usually start off with a hum or rhythm of words in my head and then just freestyle.  I come up with a few ideas. Delete and make changes as needed and try to make it as dope as possible. I want listeners to feel my music lyrics where it actually makes them think. I want them to be able to relate to what I am saying and dig deeper into the lyrics. Even though it may sound simple, there’s always a bigger picture and they apply to so many different situations in life. Always a deeper message or layer than whats on the surface. I also want them to bop their heads and sing with me!

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’ve been writing since I was in middle school, but have only been doing music for 3 years. I never knew that I had the natural gift of creating music with my poetry until I joined the Smule app community.  It was there I discovered my passion for songwriting.  Always have been a music lover since birth.  Just never tapped into my music abilities until about 3 years ago.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career?  I am not a singer, but I love to write songs. And in order for me to get those songs and lyrics heard, I have to record them myself on my phone (for now).  My goal is to become associated with a trustworthy group of dope ass artists who want to lift each other up in love and music.  I want to create magic with them and release some amazing pieces of music that will last for generations.  I am not looking for fame or fortune.  I just want to make other people and myself happy with the music I make. Change the world through song.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I want the reader to know that I am a new artist/songwriter. I am not a singer, but I enjoy it immensely. Don’t expect to hear Stevie Wonder when listening to my demos lol. I am promoting myself as a songwriter to artists who want to be in the limelight. I am not opposed to laying some vocals also if needed.  For inquiries, please email nfogle87@gmail.com

Don Jones

What is your artist name? Its funny for the longest time I struggled to find an artist name I knew I wanted something that was true to me but had a ring to it! Eventually I took a page out of Drake’s book and I went with my middle name Donald. And since my last name is Jones, Don Jones has a bit of a ring to it haha ya get me!

What kind of music do you make?  So I would call it neo vaporwave it’s definitely more of a melodic style of hip-hop a lot of my music has new age undertones within the messages but I still try to make it fun with a little bit of Dancehall vibe. So my biggest influence is Yung Lean he is a singer/rapper from Sweden and to me I feel like he is the father of this neo vaporwave genre.  My melodies have a lot of autotune but I try and craft it in a different way that isn’t normally seen, using a lot of high and low octaves to balance out the composition.  I also try and pinpoint my message to the listenter with some fast or rugged rap bars. I am not superheavy with punchlines or metaphors but I do try and create a feeling and build an emotion through the word choice almost like an abstract painting

How old are you and when did you start creating music?  When I was about 16 I had a band called northern rain and we actually played pretty regularly around PA and Maryland but I didn’t start releasing music online until 2018

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? Well my brand motto is “AGAINST ALL ODDS”  my goal as an artist has always been to prove that if you just work hard enough stay true to yourself and believe in the things that you love, you have the power to change the world! When I was younger I wanted to have a dream that I knew I COULD attain but I also one where I would never finish striving after and never get bored. So I made it my life‘s goal to positively impact as many people as I possibly can

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I’ve always had a hard time expressing myself and my feelings to the world around me so art and music has been an outlet for me to get my emotions off my chest and I just hope that other people find some consultants in the words that are said with the music I make
