In the entertainment industry, networking is a vital component of career success. It is an essential tool for professionals who want to establish themselves in the industry and progress in their careers. The entertainment industry is highly competitive, and professionals need to have an edge to stand out from their peers. Networking provides that edge by helping individuals build relationships, gain knowledge and exposure, and create opportunities for themselves.

Networking in the entertainment industry is essential for several reasons. First, it helps individuals build relationships and establish connections with others in the industry. These relationships can be with peers, mentors, potential employers, or even clients. By connecting with others in the industry, individuals can gain valuable insight into the business, learn about upcoming projects, and gain access to resources and information that can help them advance in their careers. Additionally, building relationships through networking can lead to referrals, recommendations, and collaborations that can result in work and career opportunities.

Second, networking provides opportunities for individuals to gain knowledge and exposure to the industry. The entertainment industry is constantly evolving, and it is essential for professionals to stay informed and up-to-date on trends, technologies, and opportunities. By networking, individuals can attend industry events, conferences, and seminars that provide educational opportunities and access to industry experts. This exposure can lead to valuable insights, ideas, and best practices that can help individuals enhance their skills and advance their careers.

Third, networking can create opportunities for individuals to showcase their talents and skills. By connecting with others in the industry, individuals can learn about upcoming projects, auditions, and job openings. This information can provide individuals with the opportunity to showcase their work and talent to potential employers or clients. Additionally, networking can help individuals build a reputation and gain recognition for their work, which can lead to new opportunities and career advancement.

There are several ways to network in the entertainment industry. One common approach is to attend industry events, such as conferences, film festivals, and award ceremonies. These events provide opportunities for individuals to meet with peers, industry leaders, and potential employers. They also offer educational sessions, keynote speakers, and panel discussions that can provide valuable insights and knowledge.

Another way to network in the entertainment industry is to join professional organizations and associations. These organizations provide access to a network of peers, mentors, and industry experts. They also offer educational resources, career development opportunities, and networking events. Joining a professional organization can provide individuals with a competitive advantage by offering access to information, resources, and opportunities that may not be available elsewhere.

Social media is another powerful tool for networking in the entertainment industry. Platforms such as LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram provide opportunities for individuals to connect with others in the industry, share their work and ideas, and showcase their talents. Social media also provides access to industry news, trends, and job opportunities. It can be an effective way to build relationships, gain exposure, and create opportunities for career advancement.

In conclusion, networking is an essential tool for success in the entertainment industry. It is important for professionals in the entertainment industry to invest in networking and to be proactive in building relationships and establishing connections with others in the industry. By doing so, they can gain a competitive edge, enhance their careers, and achieve their professional goals.

The MANAGER, and why you need one….

Working in the entertainment industry can be both exhilarating and challenging. With numerous challenges to navigate, it is easy to understand why an experienced entertainment manager is vital to the success of an artist. An experienced manager brings a wealth of industry knowledge, connections, and experience to the table that an artist cannot access on their own.

In this article, we will explore the value of working with an experienced entertainment manager.

What is an Entertainment Manager?

An entertainment manager is an individual who represents an artist or a group of artists in the entertainment industry. The entertainment manager works closely with the artist to help them achieve their professional goals. The manager may handle a variety of tasks, such as booking gigs, negotiating contracts, managing finances, and creating promotional materials.

Why You Need an Experienced Entertainment Manager

  1. Expertise and Industry Knowledge

An experienced entertainment manager brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the table. They have been in the business for years, have seen what works and what doesn’t, and have developed the skills necessary to navigate the industry successfully. They understand how the industry works, who the major players are, and what it takes to succeed.

  1. Industry Connections

An experienced entertainment manager has developed a network of contacts and connections within the industry that can be invaluable to an artist. They have established relationships with booking agents, promoters, record labels, and other industry professionals, which can help to get an artist’s foot in the door. With the right connections, an artist can gain access to opportunities that may not have been available to them otherwise.

  1. Time Management

The entertainment industry is incredibly fast-paced, and it can be challenging to keep up with everything that needs to be done. An experienced entertainment manager can help to keep an artist on track and ensure that they are making the most of their time. They can handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling and contract negotiations, so the artist can focus on what they do best: creating and performing music.

  1. Business Strategy

An experienced entertainment manager can help an artist develop a business strategy to ensure their long-term success. They can advise on things like branding, marketing, and how to monetize an artist’s work. A good manager will work closely with an artist to create a plan that is tailored to their individual needs and goals.

  1. Financial Management

Managing finances is an essential part of the entertainment industry, and it is crucial to have someone who knows what they’re doing. An experienced entertainment manager can handle the financial aspects of an artist’s career, from budgeting to negotiating contracts to collecting payments. This allows the artist to focus on their craft and not worry about the financial side of things.

  1. Objectivity

An experienced entertainment manager can provide objective feedback on an artist’s work. They can give honest opinions on an artist’s music, performance, and overall career trajectory. This can be invaluable to an artist who may be too close to their work to see the big picture.

  1. Negotiation Skills

Negotiation is an essential part of the entertainment industry, and an experienced entertainment manager can help an artist get the best deal possible. They understand the intricacies of contract negotiations and can ensure that an artist is getting a fair deal.

  1. Crisis Management

No matter how well an artist plans, unexpected challenges can arise. An experienced entertainment manager can help an artist navigate these challenges and manage crises effectively. They can handle public relations, damage control, and help an artist come out of a crisis stronger than before.

Conclusion

In conclusion, working with an experienced entertainment manager is essential for any artist looking to succeed in the entertainment industry. They bring a wealth of knowledge, connections, and experience to the table that an artist cannot access on their own.

ARE YOU DEALING WITH TRUST ISSUES? Indie Artist Need To Read This

There are a few reasons why indie artists might have trust issues when it comes to hiring a promoter/manager or any entertainment professional. This includes producers, engineers, other artist and the list goes on. Here are some possible factors:

  1. Lack of experience: Many indie artists are relatively new to the music industry and may not have much experience working with promoters or other industry professionals. This lack of experience can make it difficult for them to know what to look for in a promoter or how to evaluate their credentials and experience.
  2. Limited resources: Indie artists often have limited financial resources, which can make it challenging for them to afford the services of a promoter. This can lead to a sense of skepticism or suspicion about whether the promoter is really offering valuable services or simply trying to take advantage of their limited resources.
  3. Fear of being taken advantage of: Because of the power dynamics in the music industry, indie artists may be worried that they will be taken advantage of by a promoter who is more experienced and has more connections. This can create a sense of mistrust and wariness that makes it difficult for them to feel comfortable working with a promoter.
  4. Importance of authenticity: Many indie artists place a high value on authenticity and creative control, and may be wary of working with a promoter who they feel could compromise their artistic vision or control over their career. This can create a sense of tension or mistrust that makes it difficult for them to work with a promoter.

Overall, there are many reasons why indie artists may have trust issues when it comes to hiring a promoter. It’s important for promoters to be transparent and honest about their services and experience, and to build trust with artists by demonstrating their value and credibility over time.

It’s also important for indie artists to do their research and carefully evaluate potential promoters to find someone who they feel comfortable working with and who can help them achieve their goals.

The name of the game is confidence when working with others and it often starts with artist promoting their work and learning as they go.

A SUMMARY OF OUR FREE SERVICES and WHY we PROMOTE FREE SERVICES

Indie artist are so used to being attacked with sales pitches all the time. it’s our pleasure to offer something they can use – to get themselves a little exposure and experience working with entertainment professionals – in a way that allows us to learn more about them.

These services are NOT going to make or break your career and for the most part – are things that artist don’t think about in the beginning of their careers so this is a good way to get them used to focusing on things that most of us take for granted.

BLOG – the free blog write up – is a simple – copy/paste service that allows artist to tell us who they are, where we can find them and their music. While the format is very easy, the opportunity to make a good first impression is endless and it tells us how serious the artist are when it comes to creating promotional content designed to help us – get them the right attention for what they do.

FREE SPINS on MUSIC NETWORK 1063 Internet Radio – Another simple service that started off a lot smaller then it is now, we have over 100K listeners on a global scale – mostly – indie artist who are tuning in to hear their music play – but – the fact is this is still a audience. In fact a tough audience because they are not afraid to send us emails to let us know if they are hearing music they do not like.

THIS ACTUALLY SERVES TWO PURPOSES – ONE – it gives the artist something to promote other than their music or whatever they promote on a regular basis. It also allows us to see if a artist has a fan base because we offer support that gives the artist a lot of ways to get people to tune in – just – to hear their music.

BETWEEN THE BLOG and THE RADIO STATION – a talented artist could go a long way and this would also help them get noticed by other blogs and other indie stations which would open the lane for more offers and opportunities.

The down side to the free services are pretty obvious, there is no customer service and we work with people on a first come – first serve basis, sometimes we pause on the free services because we are swamped with work and need to catch up, this is the only down side.

These services are attached to the slots associated with our open mics, showcases and networking events to help increase the value of these slots and give artist a tool they can use to tell their followers more about them, their art and their up coming performances.

We hope this better helps you understand the value of working with Strictly Bidness and really engaging with the promotion we do in regard to sharing information about these free services.

MANAGEMENT WORK – NYC TRIP

First of all – we take pride in using our experience to create real – grass roots programs that can help artist from any part of the country do what they need to do to perform in front of live crowds.

ONE OF THESE HOT SPOTS is the city that never sleeps, being from Connecticut, it’s not easy to get to NY to perform and a lot of things go into – participating in live showcases, industry events, open auditions and any other entertainment event that artist want to be a part of.

Traveling TO and FROM the venue is one part of the service, and during this specific trip we pooled our resources with the other artist to make it work because this was a semi personal / professional kind of venture.

Heading to the city the trip was filled with excitement but as we approached the venue and we realized we got there early so we stopped for some food and took in the sites.

It was really a good time joking around, eating pizza and vibing out. We handled our business with the venue and lined up our performances which included communicating directly with the organizers of the show.

We introduced our artist and made sure that we gave out their social media information along with music links so the judges could follow up if they liked what they saw/heard on stage.

This represents a easy – low cost way that #StrictlyBidnessManagement can get artist involved in working with open mics, showcases and showcase competitions while creating a structured presentation of the work / brand and artist.
