What is your artist name? DAM!SAM

What kind of music do you make? Real hip hop, all day. I’d say my style is versatile though, there’s a lot of subgenres in rap and I experiment with a lot of different sounds. I make aggressive type shit often but there’s no emotion or topic I haven’t written about. Lil Wayne is one of my biggest influences, a lot of my tracks have that same “stream-of-conciousness” vibe that he brings to his songs. I just let my pen take me wherever, I try not to shut too many ideas down and just let shit flow. For what I want people to take away, I want people to hear a project of mine and feel something, anything inside. I want to bring about intense emotion like other artists do for me. So if you’re pissed off, I want you to be able to throw on a BANGER from DAM!SAM, and vent your anger. Or maybe the song will inspire you to go beat somebody’s ass!  Either way.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m 20, but I’ve been making rap since I was 8. There are Youtube videos still out there with me rapping, one day when I blow they’ll find em 

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? No bullshit I’m working toward top 5. I want to make this replace a 9-5. sure. And I love making music and sharing it with the world. But overall, the main goal is to be considered among the legends, undisputed.

What is your artist name?Shark Star

What kind of music do you make?  Singer-songwriter / Pop / Alternative Indie. I make music that I hope touches people’s hearts. I write about love, loss and the madness of modern life. My lyrics often focus on Mental Health issues which so many of us suffer from these days. My influences are many and varied, but include: Nick Drake, Wilco, Radio Head, Sufjan Stevens, David Bowie, Kate Rusby, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Ray Lamontagne, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Regina Spektor, Marvin Gaye. I have a well equipped home studio where I write and record, although there is no set process. I play piano, accordion, mandolin, dulcimer, acoustic, electric and bass guitars, so a song idea could start on any of those instruments. Or, I might wake up in the middle of the night with a melody in my head, and that would be the idea for a song. I rarely write lyrics before I have a song idea.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? 31. I have lived and breathed music since the age of 8. Classically trained on piano before moving onto stringed instruments.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? Having been signed to a few large labels, I’m not really interested in going down that path again. Never say never, but I’m excited about what indie artists can achieve from their own efforts using the Internet and social media. It’s a brave new world out there.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I would like non-musicians to understand the struggle musicians face in terms of making a living in this crazy industry. Everyone wants to download music for free these days, which leaves artists in a bad situation. Support unsigned talent, or music will simply disappear one day.

What is your artist name? Lone Katashi 

What kind of music do you make? I’m beginning my new era and genre called space music. Real passion , Real emotion. I keep all the cap and lies out of my music . People have told me my music gives them a high that takes them to space . My process is rather difficult but once mastered it’s pretty efficient. I try to conjure up all my pain and trauma in all my lyrics . To the point where it actually ruins my day . I think deeply about the pain and anger I lay within myself . Using this method plus weed proves to be a reliable source for making conscious concrete music . But I need to find a less toxic way to make music . My influences are Lady Gaga , Bobby Brown , Chaka Khan and the great El Dabarge . My lyrics are a form of me , I use life and my environment to fuel my music . I want my listeners to take only this from my music , that I will change the world. My Influence and my determination will rule over all of music . I wanna become and consume music. Bring life to everything. I want all my support to take life from my music . 

How old are you and when did you start creating music? No age , I’ve been creating sounds all my life . I only started my journey recording about a year ago . I never had the voice or style I needed to start so I needed to go thru necessary precautions and heartaches to get here .

What is your artist name? There’s Only One Elvis

What kind of music do you make? I guess modern metal would be a good description. I’ve been a fan of metal music since I started listening to music and spent many years playing drums in different bands but moving from Houston to Grove Hill AL, I wanted to make music on my own and write anything and everything I want to. Most of my influences are in the deathcore and metalcore arena but I’m also a huge fan of southern hip hop and classic rock. Lyrically I just write about whatever strikes me in a day or something I’ve been dealing with in my life at some point. Production wise, I’m still very new to the whole deal so I’m sure I’ll make a lot of mistakes but eventually develop my own sound.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m 34 years of age and I started “creating” music around 12 by playing really horrible riffs over Korn and Limp Bizkit songs.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? Really, my only goal is to have the music take care of itself. Since this is a solo project, I dont have a lot of expenses but it would be nice to circulate the money from streaming and merch back in to the project to keep it going

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I write about my life in a style that I’ve been a fan of for a large portion of my life. I’m going to keep creating and getting better.

What kind of music do you make? Rap, Hip-Hop, more genres to come! 
The music that I make is the kind that you turn  on to hear jam packed fun. My lyrics have bars and delivered in a way that make people want to move and gain confidence. When making music I wait until I hear a beat I can flow with then the melodies normally come pretty easily, then I just start rhyming and talking my sh*t. In essence I just want to remind people that music can be FUN FUN AND MORE FUN! 

How old are you and when did you start creating music? The first time I ever went to the studio I was 18 years old, but I have been dreaming of getting into music ever since I was about 10.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My music goals are to improve my skills then later educate and inspire others. Right now I am at the beginning of my music journey and I am excited to grow as an artist because I foresee myself expanding and refining my style while growing as artists to unlock the potential I see in myself.

What kind of music do you make?  -I make alternative hip-hop. Mymusic derived mainly from hip hop, music which is melodic with a lot of dance hall vibes to it. I try to challenge myself every time I make music I make a song based on how I’m feeling at the moment or what the beat tells me to do so I can basically do anything, my lyrics are based on my life experiences, goals, dreams and the messages I want to convey to my listeners and for them to hear how my production always differs in every song because I want to challenge my self and work with tons of producers.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? – I’m 21 years of age I started making music when I was I was 14 and went solo when I was 17 ever since then my passion for music has grown immensely.

What kind of music do you make?  Hip-Hop/Rap & R&B – The kind of music I create is turn up music with a little mixture of punchlines and metaphors . The kind of music that will catch your ears and get with the groove. And for R&B, I like to take the tone down to something smooth & slow to set the vibe just right. The influence of my music is to entertain the listener and give them something they would like/love to enjoy , and I am also I will soon try different genres of music so that the listener will get more than what they will be expecting.

What is your artist name? I go by the name of Esco Pop.

What kind of music do you make? I make hip hop & very occasionally alternative music. The music I make has for the most part a southern influence to it. I take heavy influences from Three 6 Mafia & Clipse. A lot of different things can inspire my music but I mostly find films, athletes, videos games, cars, and women being the main theme in my music. I just want the listener to feel the emotion in my music whether I’m raging and they’re getting hype or I’m telling a story and they’re taking it in.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? Im 20 years old now and I started making music when I was 16. I started out as a producer and started rapping shortly after.

What is your artist name? PrinceKiyah 

What kind of music do you make?  I will say my style is more so Pop Rap. I make music for whatever mood that I feel at the moment and hopefully the listener can feel that and relate as well. My process for making music comes randomly. I’m always listening to beats throughout the day; in the car , working etc.  I find myself randomly writing down lyrics throughout the day because I do work a 9-5 job as well. However when I do have the time I sit down and I compile together what I’ve written down to a song(s). My musical influences are Nicki Minaj, Drake and Tupac. As someone that is nonbinary gender fluid , I want to be able to convey being yourself and living in your truth. I would like for my listeners to feel confident when listening to my music and hopefully inspired and motivated that they too can be whomever they want to be and not feel restricted because of the norms of society.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I’m here to set the bar and knock down the doors. My goal is to break the barriers that there are for other queer people like myself that is trying to get notice in the mainstream, specifically the hip hop genere.

I would like the reader to know that I do consider my self an advocate for the LGBTQ+ Community more specifically for individuals like myself. We as a community have it hard as a whole however people like myself is seen and looked at indifferent by society and even members of the LGBTQ Community itself. I am the founder of the first LGBTQ+ social networking and dating application MURJ, available on both Apple and Android devices. Everyday I try to represent who I am and some way of fashion and I hope that through my music my listeners can get to know me a little deeper and inadvertently help me become a better person as well.
