Troy Zanger

What is your artist name? Troy Zanger

What kind of music do you make? Most of my music is listed under the alternative genre. However, I have been considered to hold essence of indie pop and electronic dance. I have even released a couple of hip-hop tracks.  A lot of what I write nowadays conveys a feeling rather than a story line. I have one or two key poetic lines in my head that I begin to build an instrumental around. Sometimes, that’s all it needs, and the song now serves its purpose. I’m basically asking the listener to be in that moment with me. I want them to feel invited to interpret the music in their own way. During my early teenage years, I was listening to show tunes and Pink Floyd a lot. I fell in love with cinematic synths that added drama to my writings. I listen to Dirty Hit artists like The1975 and TheJapaneseHouse as well. Lyrically, they influence me immensely. Not as far as content, but to show humility in my lyrics and to be honest about what is going on in my life.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I was 10 when I started playing small gigs with my dad at bars and restaurants. I didn’t start seriously writing music until I was 17, and that was with my brother. I was 19 after I decided to carry on by myself after having a deal with Bentley Records. I‘ve been writing by myself since.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I always loved the idea that I could feel so many different things in a playlist or from records of a particular band. Since I was a child, I was just obsessed with how music made me felt. I hope my music can do the same for others over time.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I’m 21 just trying to figure out what I’m doing, probably like you. Try to see the honesty in my writings and feel the emotion in the instrumentals. You will soon understand why I do what I do.

Fluid

What is your artist name? My artist name is Fluid

What kind of music do you make?  I make Hip-Hop/Rap Music. I primarily make Hip-Hop/Rap music, but I also dabble in R & B music. I ghost write sometimes for a few singers I know and I usually write and sing all my own hooks. The type of Hip/Hop music I make is mostly what Bay Area listeners refer to as Mob Music, similar to the type of music made by E-40, Too Short, Nef The Pharoah, and Iamsu. I also make songs with a trap music, alternative, or electronic feel and of course old school west coast funk influenced rap. I like to think of my music as feel good conscious street music. My biggest influences in the music world are Scarface, Too Short, E-40, 2Pac, Prince, Tech N9ne, Nas, Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, Suga Free, and Busta Rhymes to name a few.  My creative process usually involves listening to and picking the hottest beats I can get from my circle of producers, taking them to my home lab, and vibing out to them. I usually like to be in a space by myself with just the beats playing loudly through either my speakers or headphones with  no distractions or interruptions but I have written songs while in the studio with multiple artists as well. I usually try to come up with topics and choruses for each beat I decide to use and then I come up with the verses and the arrangement. When everything seems to flow together the way I want, I go to my good friends, The Mekanix’s studio and knock the track out. When its done I send it to my engineer Richie Famus who then works his mixing and mastering magic on them. I strive to make music that stands out from the cookie cutter music that gets played everyday on the radio and most media outlets. I want my listeners to see that my lyrics have substance and make you think as well as move your body. I want my listeners to have fun but still take away something deeper from my music, whether I’m schooling them on life situations I have been in or just talking about partying and having fun. From a production standpoint I just want people to recognize that I have an awesome ear for beats and that I work with some of the hottest and most talented producers in the game.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am currently 44 years old. I started creating music when I was 13 years old. I was given an assignment by my junior high school English teacher to write a poem and read it in front of the class. I decided to rap my poem for fun and got a standing ovation and praise from all of my classmates and the teacher. After that I discovered that I had a natural knack for writing songs and I began honing my writing skills and eventually started recording my own original music.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goals when it comes to my music career are simple.  I want to be known as one of the most talented, hard working, and prolific lyricists in the rap game. I want to reach people around the world with my music regardless of race, color, creed, or gender.  I want to see my Entertainment Label grow and expand and I hope to one day help develop and manage other artists and help set them on a path to greatness. Lastly I want the opportunity to work with some of the artists I admire and grew up listening to.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? My music is very unique and has it’s own lane. When you listen to me don’t expect my music to sound or feel like any other artist out there. I try to put something in my music for everyone to enjoy no matter how old you are or what kind of music you generally prefer.

YUNG $HADE

What is your artist name? YUNG $HADE but I also go by other artist names depending on the genres of music I am creating. My instrumental and EDM music artist name is DJ PURPL3, my metal artist name is SHADOW OF DEATH, and my country artist name is Austin Roy.

What kind of music do you make? I make a variety of music but primarily I make rap. The other genres of music I make are pop, rock, metal, reggae, country, EDM, New Age, and more. I make a quite a wide spectrum of music. I would have to guesstimate that about 25% or so of my music is satire in one way or another and even some of my neutral or serious music has some aspects of satire in it as well. About a little over a year ago is when I have started creating more serious toned music than I did before. I have a number of ideas set up for the future in regards to serious topics that I’ll make music about. When it comes to serious topics for my music, I try to have it based on my personal life experiences and/or life experiences of ones around me and I honestly believe that’s what helps make the music come out better in several ways than if it were to be based off nothing real. I have created about 25 hours worth of original music so far in my life and I plan to make a lot more. I typically write bullet points of ideas for songs, music videos, and any sort of creative content in google docs. I have a priority system on which projects I will get to sooner than others. When it comes to production (recording, mixing and mastering, etc), I do it all myself for almost all of my music. I always look for ways to save money in my music hobby, but also make sure I figure out ways to reduce the amount of time needed to be able to complete a song. Some strategies I eventually grasped in order to do reduce time in being able to finish a song are the following: obtaining instrumentals that are royalty free and/or public domain so I wouldn’t have to worry about using money and I have them organized by genre in folders on my computer so they can be used for songs to make in the future, using royalty free/public domain lyrics (but not for my rap music), using an online rhyme dictionary saves me time from thinking much when creating lyrics, and I also have freestyled a number of my songs in order to make songs quick (about 25% of my music with vocals are freestyles, about 95% of my instrumental music was improvised).

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 24 years old, and the first song I’ve ever recorded and kept was probably 4th or 5th grade, it was a cringe basic rap song called Money Money. I started rapping a little for fun by doing cover songs 7-9th grade then when I was in 9th grade is when I was sparked to start making original rap music. So technically the first song I made was when I was in 4th or 5th grade but when I started making rap a more serious hobby was when I was in 9th grade and then I started singing when I was in 10th grade.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My realistic, straightforward goals is to continue making music of all kinds and music that is based on my real life experiences and/or ones around me. For less likely in happening goals for my music career is to gain fame and then make a lot of satirical music and content as well as make serious music and content that will help promote awareness on certain important issues like mental health, suicide, racism, etc. I would like to help people realize the importance of preventing racism, suicide, and helping those who need mental health help or other helpful needs.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I would like the reader to know that my intention on becoming famous is not at all primarily because of the love of attention or money, my main goal is to make a positive impact on the world whether it be from entertainment from my music or content, or by influence or promoting awareness on important issues. I would love to contribute with money and fame in helping fix these problems in the world.

Nikki Briar

What is your artist name? Nikki Briar

What kind of music do you make? Country / country rock/pop. For that 10 years it’s been an amazing journey as a singer and songwriter. My style has evolved and it has been fun including the collaborations of other songwriters to my projects and production. I live in NJ but all my recording and production is done in both NJ and Nashville with my label and production team in both states so I do travel alot for production and for touring with my amazing band. Growing up in a small town in NJ near NYC and the beautiful jersey shore, surrounded by beautiful communities and farms, I always looked at country music being about telling a story and not being about location. As an army wife and new mom of 2, as a touring artist who has an amazing band and incredibly supportive fans, I enjoy telling my story through music and sharing it with the world. My first single released 10 years ago entitled A SOLDIER’S PRINCESS and that song started it all! It was cowritten while my husband was deployed overseas and once it got picked up by a Nashville radio station I knew my story was ready to be told to the world. Since that time I have released 8 radio singles, 4 EPs and 1 full length album. I tour nationally with my band and we perform over 200 shows a year. I’ve had the honor of being on TV and radio and I absolutely love bringing my babies with us so they know about mama’s passion  for music and entertainment. A huge honor has always been sharing the stage with acts that I idolize. I have opened for Tim McGraw, Chris Janson, Lindsay Ell, Locash, Lorrie Morgan, Marshall Tucker, Jerrod Niemann, Lee Brice, Granger Smith, Rodney Atkins, Keifer Sutherland and many more. As a professional I keep my cool but I idolize them all so much that being a fan and sharing the stage with these acts has been an absolute blessing!

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’ve always been a writer and a musician, growing up in a musical family, it was pretty much inevitable. My father was a touring drummer, my mom a classical piano player, my uncle who taught me guitar was an amazing jazz guitarist. Music was just a way of life for me, like another sibling in the house because it was constantly there! I stated writing poetry in middle school and my poems got published once in college. I was always a deep kid who looked at things differently and played 3 instruments (drums, piano and guitar), but my first real country song was written and cowritten 10 years ago which was A SOLDIER’S PRINCESS. A song about being a military spouse and surviving our time apart, the worrying and unknown for a whole year and the amazing reunion and how my patriotism has grown. I have alot of fun, rockin country tunes that we open concerts with and fans love such as COUNTRY THANG and AINT JUST FOR THE BOYS. I have pop country tunes and folk pop country songs as well, a mix within the genre which has been so much fun and has helped with exposure and my fan base. My new EP entitled FOREVER YOUNG has 5 inspiring country songs including a song I wrote about motherhood called MAMA’S BOY. It’s been amazing to share and perform!

What are your goals when it comes to your music career?
I’d certainly love to be as influential as possible and continue writing, recording and touring at a much larger level. I’d love to perform at the Grand Ole Opry and perform overseas for our deployed troops as well!

White Owl Official

What is your artist name? White Owl Official

What kind of music do you make? Hardcore rap/metal. If I could separate my music from everyone else’s I’d call my genre VooDoo rap. Insane metaphors fast pace chopper style and in my personal opinion cleverness that goes above alot of people’s heads you really gotta dig into my lyrics to figure out the meaning of some songs. And others are blunt and in your face all out aggression everyone is fair game. Main goal is to influence people to open there minds and be free that’s the ultimate message to take from my music even if it’s not that apparent.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? We dont have to talk about age let’s just say I’ve always done music back with Mozart and Beethoven is mainly when I started but they wont tell you that part…

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My main goal is to shed light on the different styles of rap people can do. And of course make the industry rap community go broke by stealing all there fans

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I want my fans to know that all this is for them and with out them I wouldn’t be able to make this dope ass music o make lol
