Scott Vanover

What is your artist name? My artist is name Scott VanoverThe name comes from my middle name and my moms last name.

What kind of music do you make?  The type of music I create is EDM (Electronic dance music) I’ve always been fascinated with Edm music. I don’t have one specific type of influence as I think there are a lot of great Edm makers out there. The process in which I make my creations is quite unique. I like to go on music apps and play around with the musical beats and loops they provide and sell and mix the sounds together to form the songs I create. I don’t follow after anyone so my production is strictly what I feel inspired to do at the moment in time I decide to create a song. I think originality is best. Do what makes you feel is right in your idea don’t copy someone else.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 35 years old and I started creating music back in 2001. So about 20 years now.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? Well right now I’m just taking steps to get to where I feel comfortable knowing my music is gaining the attention of the right group of listeners. I’m use to jamming in bands and now I’m doing a solo thing so it’s definitely different.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? Before I did my solo music I was in a few rock bands. The first band I was in was called Defiant Souls 2001-2008. I put out a 3 track demo with them. Our first single “Make me a believer” got some attention.  We had a demo deal offer through Chamberlain music group, radio airplay deal offer from 106.5 The Eagle, and we had bookings through Erc bookings. The second band I was in was called Outpost. We recorded a 10 track album and put out our first single on YouTube called “My ex girlfriend”.  Some bands I had the chance to know are: The Cadillac Red band, Ground Zero, Clean moist air band, Crane band, Royal Bliss, 2112 tribute band to rush, Boneye, Like Father Like Son Band, Everlit, I just signed a artist development deal with Bless Up Records and im part of the artist platform called Shodement. I recently had a top10 #5 single called “Get up off the floor” on Banksradio Australia. I currently have individual listeners in 40 different countries including the USA. I’ve been  the #1 dance artist on reverbnation charts for 2 months now. My songs are played on multiple radio stations world wide. I’m releasing my first 5 track Ep June 30 2021 and planning to release my first full length 15 track dance album December 30 2021. I’m gonna be working with other bands as well cause I like collaborating and creating other styles of music.

Ben Reilly

What is your artist name? My artist name is Ben Reilly. The name is taken from the secret identity of the Scarlet Spider, a character from the Spider-Man comic books published by Marvel.

What kind of music do you make? I make Hip-Hop/Trap music, I’m also starting to make drill music too! The music I make blends modern flows & instrumentals with 90’s style lyrical rhyme schemes. I like all generations of Hip-Hop, so I try to make music for people from all generations of Hip-Hop. My favourite rapper is 2Pac, but the main influences on my rapping style are Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Big Pun, Big L, Cam’Ron, Canibus, Cyssero, Papoose (when I’m making casual rap songs) DMX & Ja Rule (when I make melodic trap songs, cause I still want that old school flavor in everything I make). I want the listener to feel motivated, strong, & inspired to chase after their dreams after they hear my music.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I’m currently 26. I started learning how to rap when I was 10, recording songs when I was 12, & releasing music when I was 23.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goal is to make my city (Edmonton) gain respect among & compete with the hip-hop scenes in other cities. I don’t want to be a star though, I just wanna make enough money to make a living from it.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? If you’re a fan of all generations of Hip-Hop, but tired of the old school fans hating on new school rappers, & new school fans disrespecting old school rappers, then I think you’ll love my music, it’s the perfect balance between the lyrical rap of the 90’s & the melodic trap/drill music of today.

Wonderboy

What is your artist name? Wonderboy

What kind of music do you make? I make pop, hip-hop, R&b and afrobeat. Most times I find it difficult to place my music in a particular genre. I just try to make good music with great melody, harmony and lyrics that is sweet to the ears. I grew up listening to artists like Michael Jackson, bob marley, fela, snoop dog, Kanye west, jay z, Mariah Carey, usher, Beyoncé and Akon. The process of making my music comes in different forms, sometimes when I listen to a beat I do a freestyle to get the rhythm and melody first before writing out the lyrics. Some other times I write the lyrics and the melody first before working with a music producer to create a beat that matches the sound in my head. I want the listeners to pay attention to the messages in the lyrics , they are created to inspire , empower or motivate the listeners.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I am 28 and I was 14 when I started creating music.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? My goals are to get my music across to as many people as possible all over the world and to build a global brand

C.legacy

What is your artist name? C.legacy

What kind of music do you make? I make mainly Hip Hop music and sometimes classed as a conscious rapper. I’m an 80s baby and when growing up, my mum would have music playing every day, no particular genre and so music became a part of me. I started writing poetry at the age of 8 and was heavily influenced by hip hop because of what it represented. I have a lot of respect and admiration for 2Pac, Rahkim, KRS One, Doogie Fresh, Mos Def and Biggie just to make a few. My personal opinion is that these guys made a significant impact in their respective eras and left an imprint and the foundation of HIP HOP that I hope one day I could achieve. I am constantly thinking of rhymes/bars so when a beat comes on, it’s easy for me to match specific rhymes/bars to that particular beat and also the flow of my words. This is part of the process that I enjoy the most because I get to express my creativity in a unique way. I want listeners to be able to gain some knowledge about the topics I am discussing which is mainly about life. I also want my listeners to know that life could be beautiful but sometimes there are the dark side of life and the consequences that we suffer due to choices we make. I want my listeners to be able to connect to the message if nothing else at least be able to relate.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I was 8 when I started writing poetry and 14 when I started rapping.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? I’m doing it mainly for love but I’m hoping that along my journey I am able to have a positive impact on peoples’ lives. Also I am trying to build my own business and offer opportunities where I can to others that will help better themselves.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I want readers to know my journey and how far I’ve come (from being homeless and in prison)and the trials and obstacles that I have triumphed over and ultimately still being successful. I want my readers to know there is hope and we are all strong and with faith and determination we can overcome anything and that is the most important message I try to convey in my music.

AquariZ

What is your artist name? AquariZ

What kind of music do you make? Hip Hop, Mood, Experimental – Growing up I was heavily influenced by 90s hip hop & rap, mixed with rock, love ballads, and everything in  between. Left Eye meets Metallica. I battle with depression, I pour alot of that into my music. It’s my outlet. So many fans can relate to my words, my feelings and then that becomes their outlet. I wouldn’t wish depression or darkness on anyone, but the fact I can help show we aren’t alone in it… well that motivates me to keep creating art from my own demons.

How old are you and when did you start creating music? I started writing & recording over cassette tapes when I was 12 years old, I am 33 now.

What are your goals when it comes to your music career? This question reaches me alot, my goal is to simply be heard. By anyone willing to listen. To leave something memorable behind.

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music? I have been doing this nearly all on my own from day one. The only thing I don’t do is make the beats I use. I write, record, mix, master all of my music. I also do all of the design, video, promotion, really everything. Everyday I’m still learning, and have no desire to slow down. I am very active on social media, come check me out. My music is streaming on all platforms, and I am currently on the Music Charts. Vote for my song “ForNever” everyday on the weekly Q32 Music Chart!https://www.qreview.ca/q-32.html

Tre DIgga

What is your artist name: Tre DIgga

What kind of music do you make : Hip hop , rap , easy going , anytime music

I like music instrumentals of all genres any kind of classical sounds to the more current to date songs that we have playing today that weren’t heard . I’ve always had wide range influences over the years with my music so to narrow it down to a few artists or one or two genres would be completely ludicrous for me to only say that is what influence me every piece of music that I hear influences me to craft it in my own way make it work for me. My process usually involves finding something that I can move to something like a Jonathan something I can see myself listening to his usually the first process on how I go about making a song , are there times I tried to think on the perspective of The Listener who am I marketing this song, towards the females towards the males towards both could be a kid song without swears and I don’t want to cuss in it which I usually don’t Market towards the children or we can get deeper, to the parents uncles and aunties who knows might, let’s say a certain brand of car. I tried to have an overall direction when I create a song Sometimes the direction finds me I don’t find it. As far as what people can take away from my music I have no expectations so that leaves me with no disappointments at the end of the day , I’ve wrote songs about one thing I’m a listener it’s something totally different from what I said in the song and that’s okay A lot of times the flames and new vocabulary that goes into making these tracks might not be a parent to someone else and they might not get the meaning of certain words and how they’re placed the English language is a very weird constructed language in terms of we can use a lot of words to mean the same thing, so they might all leave enlightened with different perspectives on a situation all from the same song. I’m just appreciative I’m alive in a Time where my music is a lot more accessible to the masses. Hate it or love it more or less the same to me it means more than enough to me that it just is able to reach somewhere to get something took in away from it or even an opinion made about it. But if I really have to say I wanted one thing for the listeners to take away and hopefully they acknowledge it’s only the hard work that got any of my projects in the light of day , so hate it or love it you’ll still give me an A for effort

How old are you: 30

How old were you when you started creating music: 11

What are your goals when it comes to your music career: Well my first goal is to have A music career ,hey I wouldn’t mind having the rent paid and a few of the bills so I don’t have to do a 9 to 5 Jess off of making music. My second goal is to have a successful music career when I say that I, a few number ones don’t hurt , royalties definitely putting yourself into a whole different quality of life well now you can be comfortable . my third goal it’s simply to maintain a stable successful career over a span of time by whatever means possible and however that looks like a lot of times some of these dudes get into the game yeah they you know they get that hit or two hits and then you know you don’t hear from them again they’re irrelevant and I mean that in the most respectful way possible they retired not playing not on the field and I definitely I know for myself I have too much Drive and a hunger for this like no one else in my vicinity for me it’s always been go big or go home

What do you want the reader to know about you and your music: Don’t judge a book by its cover, people hear that you do rap or hip-hop and there’s kind of a stigma on it unfortunately they automatically they assume the worst more times than not , let’s be honest this is the only career path that people will say you gotta be crazy to wanna do it cause it dont pay too much unless you working you ass off and even then .more times it dont pan out because of life and what not but u still do it cause you love it and that dosent guarantee your even making music people even actually like … so the general public look at this craft some times as a a waste of time . So wrapping up what I’m trying to say I’ve seen a lot of people just not give some artists of chance because everything they hear in the same and very repetitive and there’s not too much to differentiate between a lot of the sounds that are out nowadays and some listeners swiftly conclude that” sure it sounds the same as every other thing I hear on the radio “or every other thing that they’re mass producing and force-feeding and that’s how some artist get looked over before they even get a chance to be heard. I’ve worked hard at my craft not to be generic ordinary or like any one else give it a chance don’t knock it before you try it
