Glorilla FINALLY drops her much anticipated JOINT “Blessed”

If you want to do real work in the music business – AVOID CONNECTICUT.
We are the land of HAS BEENS and low level marketing experts who think BOOKING LOW LEVEL entertainment professionals equals something major.
WHICH ISN’T COOL – we can do the same stuff without lying to the masses – small stuff contributes to the big stuff and if you think that lying will get you the fans who will support you – you wrong – don’t believe me just look at your life.

REALITY – you can’t sell tickets to a show using a 90’s rapper when the buying demographic isn’t interested in getting shot when they attend a rap show. So seeing Method Man, Redman, or anyone else from the golden era of hip hop – isn’t really a go to thing – and local rappers think they can do the same stuff they did when Facebook started being a thing just don’t work anymore.
WHO DOESN’T WANT TO GO TO SHOW BACKED BY LIVE NATION ? So using those gigs mixed with the “industry” stuff – makes things look a lot more credible to some loser who doesn’t know better.
Take it to #Hartford or #NewHaven and you can make the picture of a solid entertainment scene even if the people who are in the pictures aren’t doing much outside they local markets. WHICH they are happy with <~ as you can see if you follow any #CT Rappers out of #Bridgeport #Waterbury etc…
WORK IS WORK – so we aren’t going to discredit the value/function of these tactics but – if we doing real stuff <~ and we really trying to represent things for what they are – we can stop using the word OPPORTUNITY. People expect more than a experience and for the most part – that’s all we putting together, experiences.
When the local high school popular kid can throw a event that is safe, exciting, crowded and – in tune with what’s going on now <~ things aren’t looking good for the local rap scene – even at the “major” level.
Fast forward five years later and that same high school kid has a bullshit part time gig and a music career that is struggling <~ fast foward and that same kid is 30 and bitter as hell…. talking about the good ole days that weren’t as good as they felt but – ain’t that life ?
You would do better – to pick some no name kid – out the crowd – put em on TikTok and go hard pushing rap shows in whatever town they in <~ you will build a bigger buzz than any opener at any city in #CT – when it comes to their own #Shows and that’s on BABY.
*Note: If you live in any city in #CT – most these kids gonna jack your style so you should use these tactics to generate a buzz <~ based on your urban appeal. #ThatsAProTip <~ for the culture.
The peak of #Connecticut hip hop is a low level opener AT BEST <~ based on the size of the market. YES – underground artist who sponsor their own shows <~ do very well – when they are on a run but – they run into the same issues as we all do – making events.
PAY ATTENTION to the front runners and understand they are STRUGGLING to garner a fan base <~ so all these entities contributing to these movements aren’t doing much – but showcase stuff – at a “industry” level.
(WHICH IS WHAT WE ALL DO)
SORRY NOT SORRY
THEY KNOW IT <~ and that is why they have to revert to the fake industry tactics to hold down some credibility on the stats.
LOOK HOT 97 is in the building <~ NO – it’s not Hot 97 – it’s a person who works at Hot 97 who does business through their socials NOT Hot 97 platform etc. <~ so nothing they do on their off time – has anything to do with what they are doing on air.
It would be like hiring a cashier at McDonalds to hold down the grill at the BBQ – yeah – he work at McDonalds but McDonalds ain’t at your BBQ.
YOUR NOT PLUGGED IN WITH THE RADIO – YOU PLUGGED IN WITH THE PERSONALITY <~ and that’s COOL – but if knowing people justify all the pee pee riding I see – everyone should be taking turns on my pee pee but – they don’t show… (I’m married so don’t offer to ride my pee pee) #Js
ME – personally – if I’m going to host a event or throw a show – call it major – I want to make money <~ and put acts on the roster who I know will make ticket sales etc. – UNFORTUNATELY I can tell what you doing based on who around you. I also know – most of you aren’t paying anything and most of you – gotta work a few side hustles to make it look like <~ your doing something.
(Which is great but you shouldn’t be acting like – your presence = value cause you aren’t even breaking even with your so called investments)
CAN I DING YOU OVER THE HEAD FOR ACCESS? OF COURSE <~ you gonna work for free for someone at one point <~ KEEP READING <~ it’s a shocker… because you gonna read something that makes you think about YOUR SITUATION and that is ONLY TO SHOW YOU: We all got the same issues out here.
That’s what I work to do – as a low level showcase guy that seems to get ignored by the “Big Dogs” of Connecticut until they see the work. I work with nobody’s – and help them make money <~ while – building they resume vs. paying others <~ to look like “industry” plugs <~ so you understand why people would hate on me…. #Js
Last time I was taking my showcase series serious – I landed a gig with Concert Crave and became the market manager for new england after showing them I could deliver results.
IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE work wise…. I got to use my skills and – I got to use my brand to offer local artist – opportunities – that could lead to bigger things #Goals.
I got NOTHING from Concert Crave outside a bunch of questions and a name brand to push – I want to make it VERY CLEAR – they trusted me to represent their company which isn’t something that should be taken light <~ so while I can speak on my side – that situation <~ was a great one – I appreciate that part of the experience…. nothing else.
SLOW TALK: I used everything I had / all my experience and work I did on the local level – to do the work I did while working WITH Concert Crave <~ meaning: I can do the work – I can walk the walk – but – losers can’t manipulate me. The coffee cooler – office politics isn’t my thing.
I already was doing the work – and I was already promoting the stuff artist needed to know when they took advantage of the opportunities Concert Crave had / has to offer.
The headliners are interested in getting exposure and that’s something a lot of us need to understand – everyone is working towards a goal <~ this isn’t the destination – it’s a stepping stone <~ so if you don’t understand WORK you may not relate to this.
CULTURE ALERT: After I started working with Concert Crave – that’s when the BIG DAWGS started noticing my work <~ not knowing – Concert Crave wasn’t doing much for me <~ the things they saw me do – I planned and executed with NO DIRECTION because that’s how a boss moves…. but the “big dawgs” can’t see that – so they continue to make it seem like – CONCERT CRAVE was working and I was doing what most these CONNECTICUT affiliates do <~ when it come to RIDING A WAVE.
I established the credibility and even now – when artist complain – I re-direct and explain the value of working with concert crave – showing me – the people working with them now <~ aren’t doing a good job keeping things in perspective for the artist who sign up for the showcases (Normal work stuff – no shade)
I told Concert Crave – “Once I start promoting my affiliation with you – people are going to go to you for opportunities – thinking they going to cut me out of the mix” – with that understanding I got a Concert Crave email and any emails / calls they got from CT artist MA artist PA artist – they directed to me <~ which – made it a GREAT work environment since – they didn’t step on my toes and we were able to work together. (Anyone who knows – that’s a stand up company – they could of mowed me over but they worked with me which is another positive)
IF THEY THINK THEY GETTING AROUND ME – it benefits us to do stuff where I’m not included – and that was something I tell anyone I work with – because Connecticut is a toxic market – in addition to being so small <~
IF YOU WANT A BUZZ – come to CONNECTICUT – you will get attention <~ for sure. If you want to find problems and drama – you will find it out here because a lot of bottom feeders don’t understand how the business works – so they get social media antics confused with – real work…
You see how that works? Dutch Schultz of Strictly Bidness can’t get recognition from the “Big Dawgs” / “Industry” guys <~ because – they aren’t as “big” as they seem.
How hard is it – to book a venue – how hard is it – to tap into the artist who can bring in a crowd <~ WELP for some of these big dawgs – they look at the local scene and peep the engagement <~ then – they – make a offer <~ and the self centered artist <~ feeds into that – by default becoming low level performers.
In 2022 <~ most the people doing stuff – either worked under me – with me – or were promoted by me <~ or #StrictlyBidness – so you got a whole roster of my rejects – working together <~ making #Noise because they all tell the same lie <~
“Who are you” someone renting your position ? #CoolStuff – but I’m not here for that. I’m here to work <~ I’m here to HELP PEOPLE – get to the point where they can look in the mirror and not feel ashamed.
(You can’t be a promoter who depends on partners <~ and go against a self funded person – like me <~ and think there won’t be a time when the tables will turn – which happened when I was working with Concert Crave and will happen again… #Heehee)
RAPPERS USED TO GET HIT WITH STRAIGHT FEES to open for has been artist…. now – you can’t get away with that <~ and that’s because of the work I did with CONCERT CRAVE <~
Photogaphers/Djs and Promoters – have a way to earn a rep – working with concert crave <~ for nothing more than access <~ sooo you see a cornball with a camera pump faking – most likely he paid to go to concerts – paid for meet and greets – to make content he can use – to sell services to us “locals”
Same guys who turn around and try to charge ME <~ and other local artist for the services they give away for free <~ are doing a TON OF WORK for other companies – and – promoting those brands on their socials – for free <~
(DON’T BELIEVE ME – LOOK AT YOUR SOCIALS)
YOU FOLLOW WHAT I’M LAYING DOWN – because it’s not work <~ it’s not culture <~ and it’s not progress <~ it’s all a game and if you understand high school politics <~ you will do just fine. You will get little kid prizes too – like – the right to say you “used to rap”
It’s a game the big dogs know <~ the market and market share <~ and they know <~ the way they used to do things – is going away <~ so how can they get away with that?
People are easy to manipulate when they trying to “get out” of a bad situation <~ so standing next to people and saying you know them – has more value then a actual check. People would prefer to stand next to the stage and beg for a chance to rock the show vs. stand outside the venue – handing out flyers…. #etc
INSTAGRAM and social media is RIPE with people willing to spend they money to “Get a opportunity” but – very few artist understand the concept of brushing up on their business – assuming – the way to get where they need to be is by knowing people <~
NOPE – I know me – and everyone else is just – #Blah
THINK ABOUT IT – it’s like asking your barber out because they were nice to you – really? ya – think that’s how business works? your nice to me so I’m going to give you a opportunity <~ that cost $$$ but – I’m looking out by offering you and every other person on my phone – the same exact deal with the same exact amount of money – give or take a couple hundred dollars – right?
You wonder why they call you bitch.
ALL THEY CAN DO – is pretend – they got the market on lock when the reality is – they don’t. You can use them – or – you can work around them – or you can throw a decoy they way – and they gonna do what they do OR you can lie to them and pretend they big dogs because it’s a easy transaction <~ you don’t need credentials to grab a opening slot.
DON’T WANT TO PAY FOR A ACT? SAY YOU BRINGING THEM TO CONNECTICUT AND WATCH THE “BIG DAWGS” JUMP <~ that’s how you call they bluff. They gonna scramble to book you – whole time – I’m telling you that’s what they gonna do <~ and that saves me MONEY cause I don’t have to pay you <~ and <~ I benefit by pushing you towards CONNECTICUT #Skurrrr
EVEN IF you a industry rep – and you ONLY WORK with a couple promoters out here <~ you limiting yourself <~ because New England is RIPE with talent that can contribute to the music scene and – they understand the concept of investing in REAL OPPORTUNITIES – you see what I’m saying?
The bottom feeders have taken the lead for too long and rappers are afraid to speak facts – or call these clowns out ~ BUT – I got money for headliners and I’m willing to remind the region – who I AM…. #Strictly <~ p.s. things a lot different now children.
I realized I’m more organized and better equipped to create waves in spite of the bullshit local scene <~ that has developed around #hiphop in #ct
None of the guys have a substantial living situation and most are making less than $100K a year <~ they don’t own shit and they don’t work <~ they try to delegate with NO BUDGET – while offering NO SALARY and they do not produce their own sales <~
Considering the work that needs to be done <~ when it comes to promoting a show / developing a entire scene and changing the way things are done in NEW ENGLAND – I’m sad to report – we don’t see much leadership in that area.
I would like to encourage all the local artist – in New England – to know – we have the power to do things on our own – and – we have the power to take back the scene – and make it what we all want it to be <~
DON’T LET FAKE BOSSES OR PEOPLE LOOKING FOR WORK
TELL YOU DIFFERENT BECAUSE THEY DON’T HAVE CREDENTIALS
The people who target me for saying this – will sell out <~ so I’m not concerned about any negative blowback – and to be clear – there is NO MONOPOLY out here – my presence proves that.
TO BE CLEAR – we need to get rid of the old guard when it comes to how things are done in Connecticut and make way for Companies like CONCERT CRAVE <~ who offer a ton of real opportunities for HARD WORKING ARTIST <~
and while I may have some disagreements with some of the people over there – as a whole <~ they are spot on <~ and moving in the right direction.
That being said – the local guys pitching in to help these bigger companies should apply the same thinking when working with locals <~
WE HOLD OURSEVLES BACK <~ playing a part – vs. – working together <~
You don’t need to worry about the silly stuff – like who like who – or who cool and who not – you can figure that out once you start working <~ SOME OF THE BIGGEST EXECS ARE STRAIGHT UP NERDS – but – THE MONEY COOL – YA DIIIGGGG – #Humanity
For now – focus on the people working – unfortunately – your following a bunch of people who aren’t working <~ they playing games <~ so – get the footage – plug yourself into the parties/concerts and other cool stuff <~ but don’t call it work.
Don’t mistake – popularity and a good time – with value <~ because a lot of us – who organize these things – know – the stress that go into making it a successful situation <~
YOU CLAIM YOU WANT TO WORK <~ Learn something so you don’t slow the work down <~
P.S. – I run circles around everyone who come at me and I’ve watched young – cool – turn to old and abused <~ I don’t need to do anything – time gonna tell <~
SO TAKE THE WARNING – or ignore it <~ either way – it’s all good <~
REAL OVER EVRYTHING <~
So everyone talking about this – talking about that – and I want to clear things up – THE MOST POPULAR CONNECTICUT ARTIST <~ cannot FILL a ARENA without the help <~ of other artist <~ brands OR SOMETHING to grab the attention of the masses.
STOP – emotional people aren’t going to be able to understand what I said there so let me clear this up – if you took a person who was 2 ft tall and asked them to slam dunk from the free throw line – how that gonna work ?
You can take the most athletic person who is 2 ft tall – and they will NEVER be able to do that. They may be the smartest – best looking and best dressed 2 ft tall person – they ain’t gonna get up there to dunk nothing.
So when it comes to Connecticut – we stuck at 2 ft…. there is no changing that unless the population of NYC moved to Connecticut overnight.
DON’T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT <~ check the numbers. The city of NEW YORK has MORE people than New England let alone – CONNECTICUT – so do the math.
Nobody – can do anything without leaving Connecticut – and when they come back to Connecticut – the whole take over thing – doesn’t really work since the underground scene in CT is so vast.
Number 1 – this isn’t a new idea and I’m sure a lot of locals will try to take the idea and run with it <~the great thing is YOU ARE NOT DUTCH SCHULTZ – so you can take the same exact playlist and duplicate it all you want <~
It won’t change the fact <~ YOU ARE NOT Dutch <~ and that is why his playlist is unique.
Number 2 – THERE WILL BE NO FAVORITISM – Dutch has a lot of issues with some of the front runners when it come to this rap stuff in Connecticut and explains that was the reason he got motivated to get involved in helping local artist from his community.
Number 3: There is no Hartford vs Bridgeport vs. Waterbury Vs. New Britain vs. New London – it’s all #CT – Dutch isn’t from Connecticut and he can pick and choose who he puts on this playlist based solely on the music and HIS OPINION.
The big dogs in the state to the local losers try to copy what I do because they really aren’t happy with their situation <~ and NEED THE ATTENTION.
Everyone is telling on themselves because they doing so good but end up – back in #CT – watering the scene down with these shows designed to “Build a buzz” but we aren’t doing much but measuring our man parts… like – this isn’t what we signed up for.
There are a couple front runners doing big things but if history is any indicator of how that will work out – we aren’t looking forward to a good year.
“In 2022 I feel like I’m in the position to clarify what a CT playlist should look like and yes – we gonna upset some locals but I don’t care. Connecticut has to be united and if it take a playlist with rappers you don’t like – sitting right next to your music – then so be it.” – Dutch Said, “We done with these bitter battles between Rappers who focus on beef / drama vs. going out and being the best version of who they want to be”
Before rapping up Dutch wanted to say something.
“I will never be – King of Connecticut when it come to this rap shit. I’m a New Yorker – and I don’t play like I’m from here, but – Connecticut got dope talent. The fact we got Mc’s from all over the state who try to “take the lead” all the time – is what is killing the momentum of the culture. We got rappers from cities like Hartford, Bridgeport, New Haven and Waterbury – who really influence the sound but get excluded from major things due to the street shit – or poverty or a mix of all that… then you got rich kids who go viral but nobody know outside of they school – or town – or they socials – but they never – part of stuff that is really – #CT hiphop <~ so all we doing is flexing in a fish bowl. Then we leave the state – do some stuff in NYC and act like – we better than the guys who can’t get to NYC and do the same things – the “big” acts do – do you know how many rappers go on tour? get interviews ? get promotion or go viral for this / that – the third…. BUT NO ONE – bring it back to the state and focus on promoting the state without adding some stupid – insecure thing into the mix that locks us in this corny cycle. We got a duty – and that is rap/hip hop – we got a duty to represent the state – the real state – and that include the slums – the burbs – the rich kids – the losers we don’t like that happen to make good music – and so on…. it’s not easy to support a whole state but we gonna do it if it kills us. #StrictlyBidness”

Navigating the vast world of music discovery on streaming services is daunting, but Spotify has invested considerable resources in its playlist curation, helping the curious listener find their way in the musical wilderness.

For artists, getting on playlists is more important than ever. In many ways, playlisting is the new radio. So if you want to be truly tapped in with the latest discoveries in music, you need to be following the right playlists.
This isn’t going to change anytime soon as the streaming services have picked up in t.v. – movies as well and people are enjoying the fact they don’t need to lug around all this extra stuff to enjoy a nice song / show etc.
So what does that mean for the indie artist trying to get more streams and monthly listeners?
It is not easy work and it will take some time to gain traction but that’s how the business goes, get used to putting out a lot of effort into connecting with people if you do not have a large following that engages with the stuff you promote.
Let’s dig in!
WE SUPPORT INDIE ARTIST VOLUME 1: this playlist is easy to get on and requires NO specific following/engagement to get placement.
There is no cap on the number of artist who are on this playlist so if you are not ready to go crazy promoting the link and interacting with the other artist on this list – it may not be a good fit for you.
Artist who like to work and network with other artist will enjoy this playlist because unlike most playlists there is a active twitter platform that is helping to connect the artist who are on this playlist <~ while <~ pushing the links <~ If you are not on Twitter – make a account and connect with #MusicNetwork1063
Music Network 1063 Indie Artist Mix Up – is another playlist featuring artist that are mentioned in our #Blog – this is a big deal because the blog write up is a free service designed to shine a light on the artist.
While we love the idea that people go from our blog to the artist music links and support – it doesn’t always pan out like that. We like to offer a solid opportunity for artist to create content around different things like – placement on our playlist.
While the audience is based on the efforts made by the artist who are on the playlist – the blog is something that continues to help artist gain exposure – as we are always promoting these links to NEW social media users daily!
Don’t forget to tap into more popular playlist on #Spotify to help mix up the content you are promoting because MOST PEOPLE are not going to engage with accounts that just promote indie artist <~ and music.

BLACKPINK’s Lisa scored a major victory at the 2022 VMAS by taking home the Best K-Pop award for her debut solo single “Lalisa,” which she dropped last September.
YOU CAN READ MORE HERE BUT CHECK OUT HER PERFORMANCE LIVE AT THE VMA’S – WE THINK YOU WILL ENJOY THIS!!!
We really think this KPOP thing is the biggest GENRE to hit the scene and we believe that time will show a nice blend with other GENRES featuring artist from all over the world. #SLAY
🗣🗣🗣TRIGGER WARNING – FOR POPULAR LOSERS
Sooooo, we gonna talk about this because I hear a lot of talk about “monetizing” socials when people start to get attention for whatever they doing.
LET’S BE CLEAR – everyone deserves to be paid for working, although, everyone does not deserve to get paid while they are building their own business.
A lot of artist think that they can demand payment from promoters / labels and other entertainment entities because they have TALENT. The talent doesn’t translate to value when it comes to business dealings in MOST CASES. If that was the case, every talented person would be rich and well known as a entertainment professional.
It is NOT HEALTHY to assume the world is against you when you are not giving the world a reason to stop – pay attention – and – want to buy whatever it is your going to need to sell to make money in this business, so keep that negative cry baby energy on your socials.
IT clearly works, if you are picking up on what I’m putting down – keep reading.
START TO THINK ABOUT THIS AS YOU DO YOUR PROMOTION
The word “influencer” is not accurate for a lot of you who just duplicate the things that work when it comes to catching the attention of most – people.
Here is the key: What you do OFF the socials will translate to actual value when you promote it on the socials because MOST PEOPLE are not doing what your doing.
Regardless of what you are doing – or not doing – people will find it entertaining if you present it the right way.
Incorporate your music in the content you create and you will have a winning routine which will contribute to your value <~ or “Monetization” as everyone likes to brag about.
Meanwhile – people who want to support you are being turned off because you are bragging about your moves vs. being smart and working to be a source of entertainment for your followers.
WOW your so cool making it clear that your the opposite of value and interacting with you could actually be a bad thing <~ so while your glo is real – so is the shit you promoted so I hope your happy with that.
Now let’s get into facts. If anyone asks you to help them do anything when it comes to promotional work or any kind of work – YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO ASK FOR A FEE <~ hourly/salary/ flat fee etc. – it’s within your rights – to ask for payment. Never let anyone tell you different and don’t go out of your way to explain yourself based on your following/fan base etc.
SHOULD YOU CHARGE ? I don’t know – refer to your business plan – no business plan ? shocker – sooooooooo maybe you need to stop thinking about getting paid and focus on planning your – actual – career… and yes – I can charge to give you this advice but I’m choosing not to. #Skurrr
MAKE A BUSINESS PLAN – ANSWER THE QUESTION YOURSELF
SHOULD YOU CHARGE FEES – BASED ON GENERATED VALUE
Engineers/recording studios – typically get payment with no issues – so if you were to do a collab with another artist – you want to make sure they cover your expenses <~ or your just a duck. #Period – if you value your relationship with a artist and believe covering expense make sense – tell them – YOU WILL COVER THE EXPENSES so it’s clear – something was put into whatever you doing.
IF YOU RECORD YOURSELF – SEE WHAT A FAIR HOURLY RATE IS AND APPLY IT TO YOURSELF <~ WHENEVER YOU RECORD – THEN – WHEN YOU COLLAB WITH OTHER ARTIST – YOU CAN CHARGE THEM OR COVER THEIR EXPENSES BY OFFERING FREE SERVICES.
A LOT OF CORNBALLS LIKE TO FREE LOAD SO LET EM KNOW – someone paying they bill and NO that don’t mean they a boss… if anything they bums if they want to profile / pose / promote the fact you covering they expenses – so hold ya head up – and let them talk.
Photographers/promoters/promo models – YES – you want to pay them for their services but make sure YOU tell them that if they promote the stuff you do on their socials – you need a shout out or some form of credit because – there is PROMOTIONAL VALUE that you can get when they post the stuff they do while working with YOU <~
YOU PAYING PEOPLE = THEY SHOW UP ON TIME AND THEY DO THE STUFF YOU HIRED THEM TO DO <~ do NOT – mess that up <~ because if they fall short on services you should fall short on payment <~ on BABY
IF THEY CHOOSE TO MAKE YOU LOOK / FEEL DUMB – guess what ? As a paying client – you have the right to make a COMPLAINT – and discuss your experience so other potential customers can learn about your experience. Don’t be rude and don’t add stuff to the experience just state facts.
Should you pay a photographer / promoter / promo model <~ Depends <~ creating marketing content – yes – when someone puts a graphic together or a well produced piece of promotional content – you want to pay them for their time/effort and keep things within reason when it comes to purchasing material that you can use for marketing purposes. *** You can barter services too.
A LOT OF VENDORS WILL BE HAPPY WITH A SHOUT OUT OR SOME OTHER FORM OF ATTENTION TO HELP THEM GAIN TRACTION ON SOCIAL MEDIA TOO SO BE SMART WITH YOUR PRESENCE AND DON’T CREATE ANOTHER FORM OF POPULARITY CLOUT WARS ON YOUR PLATFORM.
ONLY TIME you should hire someone to do promotion for you is if you can hire them based on two factors – one – what they actually do like the effort they put behind the stuff they promote and
TWO – the effect of their promotion – if they get more eyes on whatever they posting compared to what you get <~ and if they can get a better response – you want to pay them <~ because there is value.
PAYING PEOPLE HELPS KEEP THEM COMFORTABLE – WHICH MAKES FOR A BETTER WORK EXPERIENCE
LOCAL CELEBRITIES AND POPULAR PEOPLE ALIKE have the potential to help you get exposure so you want to ask – what they charge – if you can’t afford to pay them or don’t agree with their rates – walk away.
IF THEY DON’T KNOW HOW TO CONDUCT THEMSELVES AND CAN’T GET THE MONEY YOU ARE OFFERING THEM – THAT’S NOT YOUR PROBLEM – IGNORE THE WAY IT MAKES YOU FEEL AND FOCUS ON HOW TO MAKE IT WORK FOR YOU – BECAUSE THATS WHY WE HERE.
SUPPORT THEM <~ and by default you will increase your reach. That’s a free tip – too. #Networking101
Photographers will do BIG EVENTS and work with CELEBRITIES who can AFFORD TO PAY THEM – FOR FREE
So let’s be clear – they work for free when it benefits what they are trying to do in regard to their personal business. They don’t have to offer you free services but they shouldn’t act like they doing much outside – paying for concerts and taking pictures then promoting the concerts for free on they socials anyway.
Knowing this – if you want to hire a photographer – learn about the fee’s other photographers charge in your market. GOOGLE will give you a lot of high end rates for experienced photographers who bring a lot of benefits when you hire them. Like – photographers who have real connections who actually have references so their names mean something.
MOST social media photographers do not – bring the same professionalism and allow personal opinions to influence who they work hard for and how they present certain things.
IT’S THE BUM MENTALITY
You can hire a photographer who may not like the fact you doing what you are doing and they may work against you while your paying them for services – so that’s the down side to hiring a photographer based on social media interactions etc.
SHOULD YOU HIRE A PHOTOGRAPHER Vs. Trying to get one to work with you for promotional reasons? I say – YES – but know your market and pay based on realistic things.
If they do not have a LLC or a DBA – do not pay them LLC / DBA rates
IF YOU KNOW FOR A FACT – they do pro bono work with other organizations – use that as leverage when negotiating rates.
Another thing – check the vibe – photographers are really a dime a dozen and are not as needed as they once were when it comes to helping a artist get exposure.
DO NOT PAY A DEPOSIT TO ANYONE who does not give you a legit location you can track them down if they don’t show up or walk off with your deposit <~
Some people work hard to earn a deposit and forget to apply that same energy to actual WORK <~ so please make sure you understand this <~ ONLY if you pay your bills. Free loaders can’t use this as a excuse to bum around, you pay the photographer the minute they show up <~ #NoStrings
PAY THE DJ <~ That’s a given <~ The #DJ always get paid and you want to take care of the #DJ with food / drink – whatever – that’s a must for a dope event situation.
Dj’s with bigger names or tied to legit promoters get more and be happy if you have a solid working relationship with a DOPE DJ!!!
In conclusion – I hope this helps a lot of you as you navigate building the foundation to a successful social media presence. If you would like to connect -peep the IG and tap in <~
FOLLOW FOR FOLLOW – COMMENT FOR COMMENT – SHARE FOR SHARE

I remember when I was working on Wall Street and some guy told me I was a poor excuse for a salesmen.
He immediately started degrading my clothes and the way I looked. This was in the late 90s – so there was some strong language involved but the point was: Who did I think I was – trying to work as a so called professional.
I didn’t know it at the time but my numbers were waaay better than his and his criticism of my lack of professionalism was nothing more then his way of venting his frustrations.
Artist and so called entertainment professionals create these positions on these free apps that make them act superior to others they believe are the same as them or – posses less skill / appeal etc.

Lowkey – they telling on themselves and how they feel about the results of the stuff they doing. Social media popularity has a point where it’s not a big deal – especially if it doesn’t translate to the popularity of your music.
There are a lot of people involved in the underground music scene who have the resources to look successful even if they are not in a good position. Kids who live at home with their parents or people living off of other people but playing the part of “big dawg” on the app. All cause they inspired by YOUR TALENT.

People promoting their music but making money with Only Fans and hand outs from followers etc. *This isn’t shade to anyone making money this way but we are speaking about so called “Professionals” faking the funk.
So the socials make their opinions – more valid and carry more weight based on their popularity – but someone who actually has employees, has experience and a real track record – doesn’t because they don’t see the same engagement rate.
Even worst, the bigger accounts will shun or try to discredit the smaller accounts ran by real professionals <~ creating this atmosphere among creatives that is counter productive to their real growth.

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? It doesn’t matter who you think you are or what position you give yourself. WHAT MATTERS is your work ethic and ability to build your value so you can make progress in the music business.
You really signed on to a free app to promote your music so you can play second fiddle to a person managing a bigger account – pretending they are “scouting” talent and promoting content they find on YOUTUBE and GOOGLE?
You really believe a CEO has time to explain to you why you need to spend $50 with them so they can “Promote” you to real fans <~ meanwhile – the majority of these apps are flooded with fake / promo accounts – and NO ONE can determine the actual results from a promo campaign so the fact you guys are buying into that – speaks volumes.

Why do artist tell everyone to look out for scams but they consistently find themselves in these long winded conversations about their feelings when it comes to labels – the industry or promoters attempting to – (I can’t believe this) – solicit business to promote their work.
The time spent having these meaningless and often time – counter productive conversations can be used to grow your network by doing the stuff that actually works.
BEFORE you hop on socials – you should focus on a BUSINESS PLAN <~ because if your expecting to find what you need on the socials <~ BE READY to waste a lot of time dealing with – fake execs and fake bosses who are really nothing more than entry level sales people who are looking for <~ WORK.
Make the plan – stick to the plan – review your tactics and adjust as needed <~ avoid the drama because it’s going to come <~ and make sure you don’t switch up – because things get loopy as the audience gets bigger – believe that.

About the Writer: Dutch Schultz is a Connecticut rapper who has worked with no name rappers to big name artist as a “local” management professional. He built his reputation based on his fierce work ethic and love of the culture.

When it comes to the genre of hip hop – we need to be straight up and honest.
WOMEN do not get the same respect as they male counterparts, so while we like to cry and complain that it’s easier for some – this write up is about someone who is building a solid career using her socials – to build a COMMUNITY.

Her name is ELLIPSI – and you can find her on #Twitter where she offers a solid – monthly subscription package for serious artist interested in connecting with her on a professional level.
I am not the type to refer business to just anyone but she has earned the respect of being a consistent – professional – presence on the socials. Which makes her a easy person to follow when it comes to guiding artist the right way – especially concerning their online presence.
Her work ethic and humble approach when she is networking / communicating with fans while creating master pieces – is very refreshing. She doesn’t talk down to artist and she has a big enough presence where she can promote mature content designed to help bring people together even if they are not 100% ready to take the advice.
Something that struck me as being super cool is the fact she doesn’t let the large engagement rate on her tweets change how she talks to people about the things she does. I remember thinking, this person deserves to be successful because she makes FIRE BEATS – and – has a solid following that actually engages with her content.
That’s a winning formula as far as any entertainment professional is concerned and while artist claim they want to “meet” people – sometimes they may not understand HOW to interact with the people who are generating value when it comes to the music scene.
This is why – following and supporting ELLIPSI is not only worth it on a human level, it can also be a good way to introduce yourself on a professional level as well.
IF SHE DOESN’T REPLY IT’S BECAUSE SHE IS BUSY
SO KEEP THAT IN MIND
I see a lot of people gravitating to her and that’s all a plus but I do not see that many people pitching in and promoting her – as – a stand alone – entity <~ which is a major fail in my opinion.
She is a draw, you can slap her name on whatever and you will see a increase in engagement which means – she is marketable <~ which means – just by working with her – you will get attention because she has a actual fan base.
WITHOUT FANS – SHE CAN STILL DRAW ATTENTION
That is what you call “VALUE”
She is flexible, fun and polite as ever and – even if she doesn’t know it – she is – getting industry attention. Not the kind you would expect either. While most artist are being scouted to be signed – she has the ability to be her own label <~ management company <~ production company <~ or whatever she chooses to invest her time in. This is the difference between her and most people who portray the things she taught herself to do while building her business according to her PLANS.
DID I MENTION SHE IS INDEPENDENT ?
VULTURES BE WARNED – SHE KNOWS HER STUFF
What will she do next? WHO KNOWS but – I will say, if you want to experience a rising star – you should follow her on her socials. Even if all you do is watch, you will see – the benefits of being a hard working person who has talent and a superior work ethic.
YOU WILL ALSO experience the highs and lows of someone making a real effort to change their lives by doing – real work. #Most won’t / can’t understand – you guys need to understand – the online support is one thing – real world activity that contributes to real growth – is another. As a valuable asset – she doesn’t need to thank anyone or salute anyone because she is the reason most of the things she is involved in take off <~ in case you don’t – NOW YOU KNOW.
Back to the person: She is the kind of person who will thank you <~ and mention you in a positive way – without a reminder. How can you hate the good guy? *Woman in her case but you get it.
I can mention specific when it comes to where you find her music but click the link and tap into what she is doing on #Twitter to learn MORE about her specific offers – platforms where you can find her beats and – learn more about her Subscription <~ offers.
In closing, I hope this write up makes you think about HER WORK ETHIC and contribution to the music scene. I hope you are drawn to her platform and subscribe to her offers so you can see what it looks like when a real person – makes the effort – to be the plug.
#StrictlyBidness
Man small world – small circles and – a small scene mean we destined to run into artist we have seen / performed with or supported in the past.
*** WARNING THIS MAY BE TO HONEST FOR SOME OF YA ***
NOW – I started performing in #CT around 2012 – bouncing between #NewBritain to #Hartford and then dipping down to #NewHaven going through the local underground scene.
LET ME TELL YOU – underground was different back then cause the internet wasn’t what it is today < ~ so when you saw artist who were REALLY working and dipping out to other markets – they were REALLY outside and exposed to real life stuff WHILE doing what they was doing on a UNDERGROUND level.
ANIMAL SQUAD USED TO KILL SHOWS
RAW UNCUT – Culture / experience and – I can’t stress this enough – dope rap stuff that you can’t duplicate if you tried.
I keep stressing the REAL and UNDERGROUND because it’s less formal and requires a certain caliber of person to be seen as a front runner among so many thirsty artist trying to get a name. I use the phrase “artist” loosely cause we weren’t artist – we were rappers and whatever came with that – came with that so if you wasn’t there… you can’t pretend to understand what I’m saying.
SO – it’s my PLEASURE to say this – and I mean that to the fullest <~
ANIMAL SQUAD <~ is something I yelled whenever these guys hit the stage – and when I say – MONSTERS – I mean that with the most respect any rap fan can give to a rap group so organically – HIP HOP.
ANIMAL SQQUUUAAADDDDDD – SAY THAT!!!!
I can’t speak specifics because my memory is def shady BUT I can tell you the feeling I got whenever I seen em perform and – I remember – being amazed at the energy.
A real ONYX kinda vibe mixed with this underground / raw new england sound that just – worked – forcing me to stand up and scream like a hooligan whenever they was on stage rocking a show.
(Even if I was dead tired and floating around – they hit the stage and like a bull out a china shop I was up there just rocking along) – this what you do when you love rap music and can appreciate what other people do – so if it come across funny – YOU WASN’T THERE <~ #Skurr
You get a show hype and everyone start going sick – it’s just – special… like all around special.
We didn’t know it at the time but those shows were laying down the foundation for what we see in #Connecticut today – when it comes to the #hiphop / #rap scene.
FAST FORWARD TO 2022 and we have a iconic power house of a MC stepping back onto the scene after going away to university for a few. If you know me – you know I don’t speak specifics on anyone’s personal journey but I will say I’m happy to see this artist coming back in FULL FORCE <~ when it come to this rap stuff.
HIS NAME IS MONZ #GetFamiliar
Monz – the leader of #AnimalSquad is popping out <~ to reclaim his position in the local market WHILE he positions himself for a GLOBAL TAKE OVER.
I’m not going to speak on his ability to rock a mic cause as sure as the sun shine – he can rap – he can create and he can perform – this a given. So if you weren’t thinking about #CT hip hop in 2012 <~ and beyond – just be happy you blessed with the knowledge you getting right here.
You want a go to ? – reach out to Monz <~ don’t play around and don’t assume this fluff – this all fact and I’m speaking as a MC and fellow rap guy <~ You want a show and a real powerhouse MC – you want to go see Monz…
A lot of us may look at specific things to determine who deserves to be seen as a front runner when it comes to #hiphop in #Connecticut / #NewEngland but let me tell you – if you consider yourself a artist/promoter – or entity – when it comes to the scene – you better make a point to know who this man is.
