The biggest problem I have noticed – is the transition from “modeling” to pornography – which seems to be the way that most these local “models” go.

It is sad that we live in the internet age and people can still – manipulate others based on THEIR agenda and how they promote the “real” business with “fake” opportunities.

WHILE I AM NOT – judging anyone – who creates or consumes PORNOGRAPHIC content – the question is – when you got into MODELING – did you want to get involved with PORN?

MOST LIKELY – the answer is no. Cruising INSTAGRAM <~ and Searching – #CTModels – you see a lot of BEAUTIFUL people who are doing – GREAT THINGS.

The great things don’t always translate to FAME or MONEY – which is needed to build a solid foundation for a serious run – in – the – modeling/fashion industry.

SAME THING FOR LOCAL RAPPERS – SO while MODELS may get more attention on the socials – they are not – facing – much of a difference when it comes to the struggle to FIND ACTUAL WORK – vs. connecting with all these fake professionals who want to HELP THEM.

A GUY WITH A CAMERA – is not a photographer <~ and – just because they can take pictures <~ put them together for IG – it doesn’t mean they are “professionals” and can do much more than YOU CAN DO as a person with basic ADMIN skills and the ability to GOOGLE “opportunities”

LOWKEY – that’s management work <~ and if you can’t afford to HIRE a manager – you want to understand – letting some guy with a camera – take control of your career – while – manipulating you to do things YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO – in the name of “Doing what you have to do” – isn’t right – and – could be illegal – depending on what is being said – and how – these situations play out.

WITH MILLIONS OF DIY tutorials and videos on the net – you can’t – say – you don’t know what to do.

YOU DO – but like many of us – we want – what we want – when we want it. By using social media to “find” opportunities – you are putting yourself at risk of falling for a popular guy with a camera vs. a real professional who may not have the following/engagement you want to see on the socials – but – who has the experience to put you in a situation where you can get paid and treated like a real – MODEL.

ONLY FANS – has made it so people can avoid letting some creep with a camera – manipulate them into thinking – porn – or explicit content is the only way to go – if they want to get fame / money – at the level most of us expect when we work in entertainment.

WHILE MIDDLE MAN come in many shapes forms – if they tell you that PORN is the way to go – make a only fans <~ tell them to subscribe and – use the content you make / profit from – to do the things they claim they can do for you.

SIMPLE – IF YOU BELIEVE – THAT PORN – is the only way to go <~ to help yourself – go the distance.

MY OPINION IS – if you don’t want to do PORN – you don’t have to. That’s not even a option for me – and if you agree – then you should connect with the things I’m doing so that you can avoid the traps a lot of losers with CAMERAS make around the ENTERTAINMENT business.

MOST MODELS MAKE THE MISTAKE OF CHARGING FOR THEIR TIME – vs. PAYING PHOTOGRAPHERS TO HELP THEM BUILD THEIR PORTFOLIOS – by doing this – you put yourself in harms way since most people don’t want to pay for stuff they can get from your Instagram – for free.

ALSO – you already put your work on IG so why would anyone need to produce more content on your behalf to “help” your career when any qualified talent scout who really has a opportunity can use your IG to figure out – if – you are worth – their time <~ and if you are worth – their effort to introduce you to people they know for work related things.

THINK ABOUT IT – if you run a mechanic shop – and I bring you a bunch of mechanics who are not qualified <~ how does that make me look as a recruiter / talent scout? NOW – if I am capable and qualified – I can find people who have POTENTIAL or think they are doing the modeling thing – and guide them the right way – so

WHEN I BRING THEM TO THE SHOP <~ they don’t make me look stupid and – they can benefit because they are ready to communicate with real – industry – professionals.

ALSO – knowing that most models spend $10,000 or more <~ building their professional credits – it’s not smart business to pay for something that we know – models pay for – when they hit a certain level – so the locals milking locals thing – ain’t our gig.

YES – you can do it yourself and so far – you have been doing it yourself. How has that been going for you ?

SEE – the need <~ to work with people dictates that you see value in working with others meaning – if you can’t afford to hire someone like me <~ maybe – you should follow this blog and use the information we promote here <~ to help you figure the things out <~ that are holding you back.

YOU DON’T WANT TO LOOK DUMB – or – run into a life problem because you decided to become a CONNECTICUT MODEL. I have seen too many young people – run into issues associated with this so called industry.

A industry that produces more single mothers then actual – professionals who get paid to do – real industry things. The made up value we generate on social media – is something you can make money off of – but – trends only last for so long.

SO WHILE THE SOCIAL MEDIA FAME is exciting – the fame alone doesn’t mean you bring value <~ and there are many many variations of pretty people who can help contribute to the visuals of any project they are a part of.

WHILE EVERYONE wants to claim independent the reality is that most people are looking for GIGS or JOBS <~ and that isn’t a bad thing – learn how to be a good candidate when looking for work – and – go above and beyond when you work so PEOPLE WHO ARE LOOKING TO HIRE VIABLE ACTS <~ see the work you do <~ and – ask about RATES for the things they do <~

I have health issues and meeting everyone isn’t good for my health due to COVID RESTRICTIONS although – I have a few places I can meet with people so I don’t worry about putting my health at risk for local glory.

WHEN I STARTED WORKING WITH CONCERT CRAVE – I was making $500 to judge contest and I made a % off ticket sales and slot fees which wasn’t a little bit of money <~

So – after that – I started to get paid $500 to host events and judge events.

FROM COAST 2 COAST to USA SHOWCASE TOUR – I was getting hired to go to concert events <~ doing what I do for myself and Strictly Bidness.

I am not available for local SHOWCASES or CONCERT EVENTS in Connecticut – but – I can send a member of my team for $500 and that is the low end.

Collabs on shows and showcases meaning – to lend my name and image/likeness to something you do will start at $1200 (UNLESS THERE IS SOME FORM OF promotional content)

TO HELP ARTIST cost $0.00 <~ and if we are making plans <~ you will be required to promote the blog / internet radio <~ as part of the relationship. NO EFFORT ON YOUR END <~ I promise you will see no profit and you won’t be included in the things I do based on the work I am doing with my team and artist who trust me to help develop them as artist.

REALITY RAP – if I HIRE YOU <~ as a headliner <~ I did my part – I’m not obligated to do anything else <~ so making demands on what I need to do in regard to your career – is over stepping your boundaries.

IT COST $0.00 to mute my phone – and let you talk while my people take notes and I work <~ on things that make me money – so if you have my number – call away.

REMEMBER – I don’t work alone – if it doesn’t make dollars – it don’t make sense <~ and – based on how things go out here in CT there is a lot of potential value – but – no money <~ soooo how that work?

My partners speak about me in public and refer business my way in real estate while my local rap artist – do the opposite.

WHEN I AM HIRED – to MANAGE A PROPERTY – I get paid – MANAGEMENT FEES <~ which is my salary <~ or – what a lot of us use to survive: Income.

So when I’m on the phone <~ or I’m sending text <~ or I’m showing my interest to work with others <~ my time – does come with value since – my regular JOB is management work – and – I get paid – a salary <~ to do the work I do <~ outside of music.

SO MANAGING ARTIST FOR FREE IS OUT THE WINDOW

THAT BEING SAID: Help cost $0.00 <~ and – we are not officially working if I’m HELPING you since – I’m not getting paid – to do the work <~ I’m doing <~ and you probably won’t give me credit for the things I do on your behalf anyway.

THE LOW END: $31K A YEAR <~ DIVIDED BY 52 WEEKS = $596 A WEEK <~ COMES OUT TO AROUND $15/HR <~ and that is on the LOW END <~

NOW – as a SENIOR PROPERTY MANAGER <~ a person who manages OTHER property managers <~

Things change a bit – and on average the job offers I get from different companies range between 80K and 150K a year <~ NOT including dental / health and 401K stuff… yeah – I said stuff… because my work is based on the way I work – minus – how I talk etc.

SO WHEN A RAPPER DEMANDS I TAKE MY TIME to invest in THEM

and they don’t shout out strictly bidness or follow the direction I give them so they can make money <~ to cover their own expenses – it makes me wonder – what they think – I am doing for them <~ and – why they think a man who runs a management group called STRICTLY BIDNESS <~ would work for NO SALARY – and NO BENEFITS <~ outside the

private – “We love you” “You doing real things” stuff…

I already made it very clear <~ NO MONEY – NO BUDGET – NO PROMOTIONAL VALUE – there is NO BUSINESS <~

You guys can go around telling everyone whatever you want – but facts will never <~ change…

SO if your not being asked to pay my salary <~ here is the LEAST YOU CAN DO <~

1. Contribute to the free blog <~ by promoting it <~ and encouraging other rappers to contribute. (WHY – so I can make stuff up that includes you – so you can make money – whatever you do with that money is on YOU)
2. Contribute to the free radio station – and – participate in the work we do there by sending 1 song <~ that you actually promote <~ along with drops to encourage other artist to do the same.
3. Do your homework – and learn about the difference between HIRING SOMEONE and the BUDGET YOU NEED to do the things you want to do <~ we don’t work for free and we are not here to pay people to build their careers.

IF THAT UPSETS YOU <~ and you think I’m being “Hollywood” – look at the way you deal with people who interrupt your family time – or – slow you down from clocking in.

HOPEFULLY YOU CAN UNDERSTAND WHERE I’M COMING FROM <~

I wish someone like me was around when I was trying to do things <~ because I’m probably the most qualified person in the scene <~ when it comes to management and real – from the mud promo work <~

BUT <~ the petty stuff <~ and the small dick mentality – holds us back. Toxic traits along with a lack of understanding <~ holds us back because we place blame on the people vs. what we did or didn’t do – to make something work.

WITH THIS BLOG <~ the info is out there <~ and – I’m going to trickle in things from my contributors <~ so you can hear it from other people – since – for whatever reason – you aren’t getting the point <~ as is…

PLEASE do the research before you give me the same old, “Yeah I don’t read / do research but I pay attention to socials and make the gossip stuff the main topic of discussion vs. the music and culture around the music.”

I DONT’ WANT TO BE AROUND TOXIC SHIT OR JERKS

I’m a jerk – I can be toxic – why do I want to be around toxic people who make me act like a JERK when I react to their toxic shit…

AND WHY WOULD I WORK FOR FREE?

As a recording artist – you should have a understanding – as far as how much time people should invest in YOUR CAREER vs. the time you should invest in following the direction they spend <~ when directing your CAREER <~ since it’s most likely – their full time <~ job <~ or – CAREER.

You want to listen to someone who has taken their talent and made something of it while educating the masses in spite of all the negativity in the local market. WHILE EVERYONE else is worried about who who who – I’m focusing on working – same way I been working – just in the music thing and more active on Facebook.

See, the same way a recording artist will go into the studio – and – record a track – I will get on the blog – write some stuff down <~ and – promote that content throughout my network.

On average I am bringing in at least 500 NEW ARTIST – a day – and introducing them to #StrictlyBidness. While I am unrolling the artist DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM – SCHOOL OF RAP CT – I am also working to help other movements – and entities throughout #Connecticut as a consultant or – senior management position.

I give advice based on my experience in the scene and hopefully – there is a understanding when it comes to the value of – CROSS PROMOTION and WORD OF MOUTH – referrals.

THERE IS A LOT OF MONEY – flowing around the local music scene – and my job – is to help artist figure out the best way to spend it – for them.

IF SPENDING – industry rates for studios in areas that are not safe DUE TO LOCAL <~ social media gossip – or – industry beef that got out of hand – then have at it.

THE GAME IS FULL OF SNAKES – and while technically – anyone can do the work – it takes some experience and know how – to navigate the music scene in a productive manner.

MOST ARTIST will look out for themselves which is understandable but – as a guy who worked with countless artist – I have to worry about you – me – them – and them – as a person who is tasked with leading the charge.

QUANDO RONDO – been around a lot of killing and seem like – it’s catching up to him – and everything ON BEAT so America GOBBLES IT UP and celebrates the gang culture from a safe place.

Quando Rondo – like many of us – say things and do things that we can’t take back. Unfortunately for him – a lot of what he did – is deeper than music. So he is on a whole other journey while we call it #Music from the sidelines. Very sad – all around.

Part of my job – as a responsible professional is to educate people on the basics <~ when it comes to business. MOST people will get turned off because of the presentation and that is fine by me. WORK don’t care about how we process the hard facts when it comes to conducting #Bidness in #Connecticut.

The work I do – is not for soft hearts or weak souls. YOU MUST have a thick skin and be ready to stand up when the time is right.

FIRST YOU MUST SIT DOWN – process and apply the info you are given <~ so you can produce your own results to contribute to the networking relationships you build.

WHILE MEETING PEOPLE is great and making friends is a bonus – you must connect with people who bring you value while you do the same for them.

KNOWING WHO YOU ARE – and WHAT YOU DO – matters over who you THINK YOU ARE and what you HAVE. This is very important because you will meet a lot of people who are VERY important in their industries and – who have a lot more than you because they have worked long enough to earn those things.

It is intimidating – when you are in the situation you are in and involved in networking situations but let’s focus on the facts. YOU – like many Americans – have a dream. Your dream – requires a lot of work. You will go through some financial hardships – but – does that mean you are less of a person ?

NO – while we all like to say MONEY is the motive – as people we know – MONEY does not make the man / woman. OF COURSE you want to earn – but – you don’t want to get paid for a service like a gig worker and you don’t want to nickel and dime your partners.

SEE – that’s the downside of networking – THE BIG DOGS – embrace everyone and work side by side with everyone they deal with – while the little dogs – fight over scraps and jockey for a status they can’t really hold down.

PAY ATTENTION to that – if your around people who always undermine your work or step on your toes – YOU NEED TO UNPLUG and move different OR you are CHOOSING to waste your time/money <~ with the wrong circles and – it will hold you back – from doing what you are trying to do <~ in whatever industry.

Relying on friendships or personal relationships can put you in a tough spot – what happens if your friend – crosses you <~ and you go to correct it – then they get butt hurt – and try to “black ball” you because they know – they messed up.

Now – ask yourself – how can they black ball you <~ when you <~ have the ability to work through others and – communicate with the people who matter in a way where the little dogs can’t do much but talk.

A lot of people will say – I can make this happen and call people – assuming wizards exist and the basic work ethic of our country – magically go away. YOU have the magic stick – and YOU alone – can snap your fingers and people will jump.

BUT – those people you hire – are done with your stuff – they are tired of the way you talk – the fact you make more money then them and – you carry more weight when you walk around with the BIG DOGS – talking that BIG DOG TALK.

SO MAGICALLY – your bark has no bite and your stuck. The whole time you were NETWORKING – you forgot to WORK. You forgot to put the muscle behind the hustle and got caught up in meetings and getting to know people.

HOW MANY TIMES can you talk – before you realize – your not producing <~ your always planning – always trying to work something out and the money is running out – so you can’t get a ticket – fill a tank or get the resources to survive while you make your “Moves”.

A ROCKING CHAIR MOVES AND GOES NOWHERE

You may be a great person <~ and you may have the dopest work ethic / greatest ideas and – you may have access to the best people. You can still – mess it up <~ because you never did the work. Talking to people and making connections – is great – but you forgot to hit the switch – so you plugged in for what?

YOU tried to delegate with no budget – you tried to demand results from people who don’t respect you and – you don’t pay enough to tolerate your bravado – the fact that there is work to be done – and the urgency you know exists – doesn’t make people work harder or faster – especially with all this information floating around.

So while your networking – you have nothing to bring to the circle and – because you have nothing – you find yourself on the outside – being treated like a customer vs. a peer <~ while that feels horrible – you can only blame yourself.

THE GOOD NEWS

IF NETWORKING ISN’T WORKING FOR YOU – try to WORK <~ on something in relationship to the industry you are in <~ don’t try to compete with the “Big Dogs” for status – focus on being a worker and mastering the essentials while learning different ways to earn money.

ONCE you are in a routine – you can adjust your tactics to aim high – but the key is to always work on developing your approach and the people who work with you so that you can grow together.

You can get a lot more done if you focus on yourself and the things you bring to a relationship vs. worrying about what other people can do for you – because you widdle it all down – you need to step up – to benefit <~ from a networking relationship.

FOR MOST PEOPLE YOUR GOING TO BE DEALING WITH A PERSONAL MANAGER IF YOU DO NOT QUALIFY FOR A BUSINESS MANAGER.

YOU NOTICE I did not use the word – INDUSTRY <~ that’s a key fact – good management understands if you use the wrong words – you are saying – different things.

INDUSTRY implies you work with a label or some form of celebrity when it comes to a project – NOW – you can work with celebrities and STILL – NOT BE INDUSTRY <~ pay attention because this is where a lot of you get lost in the sauce when some – middle man – uses the talking points he was sold – to sell you – opening slots to some hole in the wall venue or concert in a out the way state/city etc.

SEE – bigger concert companies – like to work with smaller – promoters <~ who help them sell tickets to shows – which they use to incorporate those promotional situations with stuff they do on the side – see – that’s the connection right there.

YOU GET A JOB – with a BIG concert company <~ then – you use that position to make it seem like you are some big time industry connect when your really just a middle man selling tickets to shows.

ALL THAT IS FINE – as a manager – I LOVE MIDDLE MEN – middle men are the best because they work so hard pretending they are doing something – they end up doing all the work and all I need to do is lean on them for results.

“Hey you said you would do this” or “If I’m not mistaken you told me” – and so forth. This is a good way to make middle men jump and open doors for you in a way that show – you are someone worth talking to <~ see… free game.

ANYWAY – how do you know if you are ready for management?

WELL – let me ask you this – HOW MUCH MONEY ARE YOU EARNING FROM YOUR MUSIC?

STOP – please be honest – if you are talking about streams – and that’s it <~ please – pay for promotion and don’t worry about management for a very long time.

See, a lot of you want one of two things when you are not ready for management – that is – personal management (or a friend as I call it) – and / or a promoter <~ which is not what I do.

SEE MANAGEMENT WORK is sort of like – being a parent – but – for business purposes so we can’t just work to work we have to work for a reason.

LOCALLY – we work for the shows/showcases because they bring in the most revenue using the least known acts. We sell the experience more so then a opportunity because we see that there is NO REAL opportunity in performing at a showcase.

BECAUSE those shows inspire so many people – a lot of movements are born from those situations – sort of like local studios or labels – they become hot spots for talented people because – talent wants to be around that stuff.

TYPICALLY you have one person who is doing the leg work to run the business while everyone else play the role of artist – the artist <~ need to promote the person who is doing all the business and work to raise money to cover expenses with that work OR you can bring all the talent to a dry lake – nobody drinking water. FEEL ME?
