Only math I do is money math. I would say English was one of my strongest subjects ’cause I was just really into it and it was easy, too. I really loved social studies, oddly. I just liked my teacher. He was amazing. My history teacher, Mr. Brooks. I would never forget him. That’s how you know somebody leave a mark.”

TRUTH ON BEING AN XXL FRESHMAN: “I went into it not thinking that I was gonna do it again. So, I was just like, Damn, they gonna let me down again. I know they ain’t gonna pick me. So, when they picked me, it was a very big shock because I feel like you always know your talent, but you know, people don’t dig into everybody’s talent. I know that I’m talented, but I know that I’ve had this amount of hot songs that they may have heard. It’s so many talented artists. For me to be considered and picked, it’s very insane to me ’cause you gotta think of me coming from like a real, true grind. I really never took a shortcut. So, for me to feel like I got all this, these things, like in an authentic way, it feels better to me.Throughout the years, everybody that’s been on the list, it’s like they’ve made a stamp. There were people that were successful after. And it’s like, Damn, that’s how y’all feel about me? I’m kind of like the rap best friend. I’m the one that says the things that’s like, I’ll take up for you when your boyfriend is cheating on you type best friend. I have very, very confident music and I feel like what makes me different is not only my sound but my journey and how I got here. That is what sets me apart. I’m very diverse. There’s so many sides to me that nobody’s ever even seen and y’all be seeing it the rest of 2022.”

Duke ThaGod – His Story – His Words – Release Date Dec 29th

Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, Lavaughn Freeman, who goes by the stage name, Duke Thagod, gravitated to the north side of his city, where all the action was.

The northside was where the trappers and females posted all day and night. The glitz and glam of the local Drug dealers influenced him heavily in his early stages of life and led him to be involved in illegal activities and ultimately serve time in prison.

While in prison, he honed his skills as an artist and decided that when he got out, he would focus on his career as an artist.

Heavily inspired by Jim Jones, he attributes Jim Jone’s song, “We Fly High,” as the motivation behind his love for the rich lifestyle and fast living. Duke Thagod states,” Seeing him(Jim Jones) live life without a care in the world made me think to myself, I can do it also.” Duke Thagod labels himself as a Trap Rapper and says his music talks about his lifestyle and love of drugs, money, sex, and everyday struggle.

With the help of his manager Capo and the team at Eat While Count’n Sheep Entertainment and Promotions, LLC. (EWCS) he plans on taking his career to the next level by consistently releasing music and videos, including an EP 1500 and a series of videos to build his fan base and getting over a million video views and streams within the next two years.
